Depression Made Time Feel Weird

Some days felt like five minutes. Some felt like five hours.

I stopped answering texts, stopped making plans, and somehow became good at saying “I’m fine” when I wasn’t.

My dog didn’t fix my depression, but he gave my days a little structure. Wake up. Feed him. Walk him. Repeat.

When I later learned about emotional support animals, I talked with My ESA Therapist to understand whether my situation actually qualified.

What stayed with me most was simple: sometimes getting better doesn't start with feeling happy. Sometimes it starts with having one small reason to get up.
