So I have been in the deployed location for about 5 months now. MY Unit Deployment Manager emailed me and asked me, "What happened that you are going through an MEB?" I was pretty shocked, and after getting a copy from her it read, I was no longer Worldwide Qualified, deployable, no PCS, no TDY. So I call the officer who signed the document and after a little run around I found out that I was flagged due to my high prescription use for medications to deal with me "Arthritic like condition" (Have hand, joint and knee pain) I have been experiencing for the past 4 years. After explaining to the provider that I am currently deployed, he informed me that they are now going to "turn off" the MEB and reinitiate once I get back from my deployment (probably in March).

I am brand new to this and have been reading as much as I can on this website, but still overwhelmed. I am focusing on getting better, but I can't help to think in the back of my mind, "is this the end?" I have never failed a PT test and have only been on a profile once or twice for the pain in my hands (less than 6 months each time) int he past 5 years. I have just a few questions below if anyone could give me their 2 cents:

- If they are thinking about separating me for medical reasons and make me undeployable, why when they find out I'm already in the AOR that they back peddle and "turn it off"?

- I have other conditions that I have been diagnosed with like Psoriasis. will that even go into the MEB? What about other conditions do I bring up everything that's caused me trouble in the past?

- How can I tell is a condition I have is a "do not retain" condition? Is there a list or something? I don't want to start this process and find out afterwards there were other things in my records that could have been brought into play?

Any info is greatly appreciated. I think I have a leg up here since I know ahead of time that they're going to initiate the MEB in 2-3 months. Hoping to get a head start on research now. Thanks
