Denial entry into WTU?

Just a question, if you meet the reg AR 600-X requirements and the policy requirements of the WTU and your commander, has anyone heard of a denial of acceptance into the WTU?

It does happen. The WTU has only so many slots, and they have to hold some open for MEDEVAC soldiers who come directly to them. All of that gets taken into consideration when the TRIAD of Care meets and reviews packets. There is no standard set in stone to get in. They have to prioritize according the needs of the whole divisional warrior population.

Don't get caught up worrying about what ifs. Just prepare yourself for a decision either way, and you will come out fine. I know trudging on within a line unit sucks, but it is doable with the right mindset and strategy.

Make sure that you sent an actual packet up before you accept denial. I was given a "verbal" denial from the WTU but when I sent a letter to the surgeon general they told me that they can't deny you until you submit a packet.

13foxtrot40 - The Doctor told my husband if he gets denied into WTU, then to come back and see him and the Dr. would get him in.

WTU is the best place to be going through IDES

Why is that? My husband has done all he can do at this point. What would the WTU do for him? Seems like they said it would take 30 days to get over there anyways.

WTU has great programs as far as dealing with soldier to civilian life, your husband sole purpose at WTU is to heal, make appointments and use ALL of the benefits WTU offers

The WTU's are notorious for "denying" people with lots of excuses. Remember the WTU DOES NOT have the authority to deny anyone. All packets MUST be sent to the WTU HQ. If you don't get anywhere call the Army Surgeon Generals office and they will give you the direct path to apply.

I went through the same thing. If you are in IDES then they can't release you from active duty.

I too am going through the process of the WTU, still waiting on the letters from my command to get in here at Belvoir. Joys of being in HHC HQDA, everything takes longer to get done...
Dreading my leave being over, but at least they are not having me work over night shifts and then do 10 hours of Dr's appointments, rinse and repeat for 4 days straight.
Then they wonder why I got placed in the psychiatric ward for a week. No sleep, narcotics, PTSD and driving in DC is not a good combo at all .

There is alot of information here from you guys, Thanks. Well I have been seeing a off post provider for my PTSD since 2010, I had a bad situation at home, and I was afraid of it and took things seriously, blackouts and temper problems; including loss of sleep, I wake up at 0300 everyday no matter what. I have been on pills and sleep stuff, but of course thats a hit and miss daily. I just had my 3rd knee surgery and the Doc is going to put me in for a MEB review. I dont know if the percentage is based off on just the knee or everything in my medical packet. I'm on anxiety, sleep, and headache meds. I been going strong with 13 years in E6 type, but I know with my limited disablity, my promotions are not likely, but not even that, I am just tired of hiding the problems, this is my first day of truly addressing everything. Thanks for your comments and letting me vent!
