DD214 Question

I will start terminal leave 22OCT12 with my final day being 25OCT12. I pick up my DD214 on Friday, 19OCT12. Do I have to wait until 26OCT12 to submit my DD214 to the VA or can this be sent in sooner? Anyone with insight on this, I greatly appreciate it.

I belive you can submit it as soon as you got your DD214 and it will be effective on actual day.

Once you get your 214 you can submit it to VA. As you know you will not get paid until the VA get the DA 214. My leave began on 14 Aug 12 - 2 Nov 12. I turned my DA 214 in on I believe 10 Aug 12.
