Are you allowed to apply for CRSC while going through a MED BOARD? I know of a soldier that applied and was approved while at WTU. For those of us that are not in a WTU , are we able to apply and get approved?

I don't see why you could not if, you already had your 199, VA results, and your retired pay set up.

One of the primary requirements for CRSC is to be in a retired status.

Not only that, the DFAS has yet to build your retired pay account. I also suspect you are not receiving VA comp yet.

Sure...you can apply but you would be wasting your time. It would be kicked back upon receipt at the CRSC board.

Eligibility
To qualify for CRSC you must:

  • be entitled to and/or receiving military retired pay
  • be rated at least 10 percent by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA)
  • waive your VA pay from your retired pay
  • file a CRSC application with your Branch of Service
You are not entitled to retired pay...yet.
