I put in for CRSC last summer and after almost 7 months I finally got my approval letter recently. The letter was dated Jan 20th, and I received it Feb 3rd. Can anyone tell me when I might see my first payment and when i'll get the 3 years of backpay I have coming? Much appreciated.

Back pay comes from DFAS Cleveland. It only took about a week to get mine, came straight from DFAS Cleveland. If you check your my pay account they will have a CRSC pay statement under the retirement one.

I thought i'd update this thread for anyone who may come across this for their own info in the future. I received my first CRSC payment Aril 1st. Just waiting now for the backpay now.

I have Cardiomyopathy (Heart failure) from serving in Iraq/pakistan. Can I still receive CRSC?? Should I try to fight for it? I got out in 2011.

CRSC is for retirees who have gotten their disability due to combat. Take a look at the link provided. If it sounds like it applies to you, I would definitely apply for it. Its simple to do, takes a bit to process though. 7 months in my case.

Can someone explain to me how the VA is involved with paying backpay owed to me because of my approval of CRSC? I received my first CRSC payment on April 1st. DFAS this past week told me my backpay is in just being reviewed and should completed and paid within the next 30-45 days. She said though that the VA should be done with their part of the backpay and I should that any day.

So my questions are; Why would the VA be giving me backpay for CRSC? Also, am I correct in assuming that the backpay DFAS will be paying out to me will be from the date that CRSC back dated my CRSC (Sept. 2013), times my monthly CRSC amount ($971)? Is there anything else that goes in to DFAS paying backpay for CRSC?

Hopefully these questions all make sense. Thanks.

***Question*** It took over 8 months for Deparment of the Army to process a reconsideration form, how long it will take for DFAS to finally send me some money?
***Question*** any ballpark number on the amout of money

That's cool. I applied December 11th 2015 and patiently been waiting. Trying not to lose my cool has been the hardest part, it is good they are doing their job at Army CRSC.

Yes I know CRSC is paid monthly through DFAS. But if it was me you were replying to, the VA is also tied into paying back pay for CRSC some how. Im not sure exactly how (which is why I asked my previous question), but they do for some folks. This can be shown in black and white.

Just try to remain patient man.. It took about 9 months for me to get approved and get my first CRSC payment, and it will be 10-11 months before I get my 31 months of back pay.

My apologies, I misread something in the thread.

Thanks man, I'm trying. Nine months? How many times did you have to call them?

Yup, nine months. You can call, but it won't do you no good. All they will tell you is that they received your application, and its being processed. But I would call once a month or so just to make sure the wheels are still turning.

Sadly this has been my exact experience. ಠ_ಠ

You can check the army hrc portal to see if they uploaded your crsc file. I was walked through the site and seen my crsc letter because after completion, it will a few weeks to get the official letter. Also took 8-9 months for the whole process.

Finally received my letter from CRSC on May 1st, approved for benefits.

Im sure you will get it soon. Timelines are generally skewed but if only by a couple days which honestly is irritating but not at all surprising.

Same month I got approved for CRSC I was notified I also have a TDRL reevaluation so I think they are catching up on their backlog.

Interesting. I'm waiting on my TDRL reeval also. Was thinking they'd try to schedule it soon since I got out in Nov.
