Complied List of Approved SSDI disabilities

I was wanting to start a thread of "APPROVED" as per SSA guideline of disabilities.
I understand it is sometimes a CASE BY CASE basis, but it would be nice to know of which conditions "can" be able to receive SSDI benefits:

So far I have seen the following approved for SSDI benefits:

1) Total loss of one or more limb (hand, arm, leg, etc.)
2) Total/partial loss of one or more major organs (Bladder, kidney, heart transplant etc)
3) Total/Severe partial loss of vision.

I would really like to know about orthopedic conditions such as fractured ankle, asl/pcl/plc/meniscus knee repair, hip surgery/replacement, etc.

Thank a lot for everyone's info.

If it was only that simple..... I have condition A...... then I'm disabled ;)
SSDI really considers your work history and if you can work..... :(

It's really not even close to a VA disability for benefits criteria where A & B = C

That is true. But I'm not asking for exactly like: "If you have disability A, then you get approved. If you have disability B, you don't get approved".

Not looking for that, just asking those of who got approved, what disability did they have?

Simple question.

HERE ARE MINE:

PTSD w/ Severe Depression; the Army rated @ 70% ;)

Cognitive Disorder/Mild TBI; The Army rated @ 40% ;)

Right Shoulder Injury........; The Army Rated @ 10% ;)

Lower Back Injury.............; The Army Rated @ 10% ;)

APPROVED BY SOCIAL SECURITY IN UNDER 30 DAYS :D

Hope this helps, but I guessing not.......

Any condition can result in SSDI being awarded. I understand what you are trying to do anchorman, but it's honestly just going to give you carpal tunnel listing every medical condition.

If someone had a paper cut and it became infected which led to amputation.......they could be awarded SSDI based on a paper cut. SSDI bases your case on everything, not just certain pieces of your medical history. My example is "extreme" but it's just to prove a point. That's why SS doesn't have a list.

There are state specific "Lists of Impairments" that automatically qualify someone for SSDI. But any condition can qualify you if it prevents you from working at substantially gainful employment.

This might help:

So which one did you use to get SSDI or did you use all of them for your SSDI?

When I applied they requested all information on all injuries, AW2 and the Wounded Warrior Project assisted me along with hospital staff.
Their assesment test is not based soley injuries to determine disability like VA's, but based on an individuals past employment, job type and description and the individuals ability to continue that employment. Nor is it a needs driven assesment.

Think of it this way..... orthopedic conditions such as a fractured ankle, asl/pcl/plc/meniscus knee repair, hip surgery/replacement, etc. do not drive the assesment test as a way to determine disability. It's past employment history, job discription and type combined with your injuries and the individuals abilty to continue that type of employment that drives the assesment test that will determine if you will to considered disabled. ;)

I was denied twice even though I lost my career as a pilot, can never fly again, cannot even work on aircraft due to meds, etc... but I was still denied. My degree was in professional aeronautics, but that doesn't do me much good now. So, I take that theory of not being able to continue an individuals past type of employment, education, etc to be case by case or in my case, poor research by whoever denied my application and first appeal. At least I have my formal appeal hearing next month. Hopefully I'm not denied again.

I feel your pain, brother. Same boat here, never able to fly again due to meds and conditions. I love flying, but I also love business/entrepreneurship as well and earned my MBA about 7 years ago. Looks like I'll most likely be using it soon...
