Command wanting to see PEB/VA Ratings

That is the only rating you get from the Military, the VA presents a "proposed rating" however it is not final until after it goes to the VA. By this time you are no longer in the military or part of the command which is asking the questions.
Indeed, I definitely concur; it's a function within the DoD IDES process! :)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

All VA ratings are now tracked through MEDPROS and unit command is informed, this is mine:

VA Disability Rating Information According to the Department of Veterans Affairs you have been awarded a VA Disability Rating. This information may be used during a health assessment to identify potential duty limitations. VA Disability Information VA Disability Rating: Yes Date Awarded: 2014-12-01 Combined Degree of Disability: 100% IAW Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense Memorandum dated 12 Feburary 2014, SUBJECT: Sharing of Department of Veterans Affairs Disability Rating for Members of the Ready Reserve. Service members of the Ready Reserve with a disability rating from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) pose a readiness challenge for the Military Services. Reserve component (RC) commanders, not aware of such ratings, may assign military duties to these Service members that could impede VA health care and may cause health and safety concerns for these Service members and their units.
