I am currently on a second LIMDU period for Major Depressive Disorder. I have been dealing with this off and on over the last 8 years. I had a Suicide Attempt in 2015 followed by inpatient treatment, a year of psychotherapy and meds. After the year was up, I PCSed (summer 2016). About 10-12 months later I sought help again for suicidal ideation, panic attacks and anxiety (December 2017). I was placed back on medication and several months later (March 2018) started my first LIMDU period. I completed the LIMDU period and went back to full duty (September 2018). I then PCSed after going back to full duty. I arrived at my next duty station and subsequently went to the ER twice for suicidal ideation, panic attacks, anxiety and depression. After the second visit to the ER I was admitted for inpatient treatment and started my 2nd LIMDU period (November 2018). I have 26 years of service as of November - 10 Enlisted and 16 commissioned.

What are the chances of being found fit?

Would appreciate any feedback that is offered.

The USN leans toward fit frequently in IPEBs. What was in your commands NMA letter?

Chaplaincharlie thanks for the reply. Have not reached the MEB point in the road. I basically have one more appointment before my provider kicks off the process. So I may be premature in asking my question. I have heard the same about USN IPEBs as well.

It has been a tough road up to this point and honestly hope they find me unfit. However, I know that the possibility exists that they may find me fit.

How is your command taking it is very important especially for the Navy.

Mike - I have since received my NMA. The command allowed me to draft the NMA and submit for signature. NMA recommends unfit finding based on difficulty in doing my job with my current diagnosis. I have heard the NMA carries a significant amount of weight in Navy PEBs. Would like to hear your thoughts.

I think the NMA carries a lot of weight about duty performance. In the USN that is critical to an unfit finding.
