Captain with 10 years offered med board for MDD

Hey Everyone,
I have major depressive disorder,
Was offered an MEB by psych,
Unsure what the outcome or rating would be,
If given the option, curious what the rating would be and if its worth it. I am an O-3 with 10 years in. Unsure if I can stomach another 10. I also have
Tinnitus
Sleep apnea
Generalized anxiety disorder
Psychological trauma not otherwise specified
And a couple other things.

I cannot comment on what your percentages will be, but I can tell you sticking it out will most likely make your symptoms worse and have more detrimental effects on your life. I say this from not only my own personal experience, but also from the words of my friend’s widow. He tried to hold out and hide/suppress his symptoms and his situation turned out with the worse possible consequence for him. Hence, why his widow told me all this…

Get the help/continue the treatments you need first . You have the 8 year rule to your advantage if you go to an MEB and try to pull the Existed Prior to Service BS.

MH conditions usually receive a single rating based on social and occupational functioning. If you don't think you can do 10 more years, a MEB might be in your best interest.
