Can I Still Have to Face an MEB

Never Surrender

I have applied for and receioved my OFFICIAL Retirement orders dated Relieved from Assignment 31 Oct 2014. (Yeah)

I am about to turn in medical paper work that could otherwise cause a MED (Asthma/Kidney Disease).

1.) I have 6 months before I start Terminal Leave + 2 months before Retirement 01 Nov 2014. It is not likely that The Med Group will start a MEB is it?

2.) Certainly if they do I can drag and postpone to reach my 20 TAFMS I think. Your thoughts please.

In fact I am still waiting for the results of a couple of test's. I am AGR with Tricare Prime Remote as there is not a MEDFAC within 200 miles other than the Guard base on drill week end with PA's and Nurses and 1 Flight Surgeon.

Just looking for some peace of mind as it has been a hell of an anxious ride the last 2.5 years.

Thank you.

Respectfully,

Never Surrender. Come on September.

I am not sure about how that works, but you should do it regardless just to get your VA stuff accounted for and started. Odd though that with those two issues you should have already had an MEB started.

Thing is you applied for retirement and already have orders, so no matter what happens you will always qualify for concurrent pay, unlike myself who only made 17 years and have to pick one or the other. Also, being AD will put you in the IDES process which prioritizes your VA case. This is a tricky situation and I am afraid I do not know the regulations behind it. I am sure others on here do, especially Jason or Warrior.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thank you for the input. The Concurrent part is what concerned me. I want to hit 20 TAFMS. Big difference between one, the other and both.

Never Surrender.

if it does start a med board, you will see 20 come and go before your out. even if they sped everything up as fast as possible, you all ready have orders, so there would be a presumption that your fit to retire UNLESS something else pops up.

Thank you TSgt Twitch, this too putts my mind at ease. The support from this forum is unique and priceless. Much respect to all, hoorah.

Never Surrender.
