MSC finally contacted spouse and apologized for his packet sitting on a desk (but not the MSC's desk) and the deadline being missed. MSC requested the C&P exams from the local VAMC; he stated spouse should get hear something by the end of the week to schedule the approximately 14 appts.
That was about two weeks ago.
In the meantime, spouse did follow up with the PEBLO and MSC looking for a phone number for the VAMC, and both the PEBLO and the MSC said once the exams are requested, they do nothing but wait.
Spouse is still scheduled to be out of state for most of the month of July, and the ebenefits deadline for the stuff requested from the VAMC is shortly after he is supposed to return (but it is a very tight window).
After contacting the VAMC, the C&P department can't help him because he is in the IDES system. The online extension for appointments is wrong and rings at a doctor's desk (who was very nice, and pulled up his file only to say that it looked all jacked up, and he was going to email someone about it). There appears to be no way of getting in contact via phone for the folks scheduling for IDES/C&P. More than one person has stated that they don't believe they do those types of appointments, because Fort Bragg is "right there".
Ebenefits shows the pending request. The VAMC staff can see it in their system, and they acknowledge those requests are "supposed to be started scheduling within 72 hours of receipt". But nobody knows who is supposed to schedule them it appears.
Is there any department we could try or any question we can ask to get them to straighten this out? Spouse has regular doctors' appointments scheduled between now and when he is supposed to leave, and he is worried that the shorter the window gets the more likely he is to have to miss a regular doctor appointment (which are hard enough to get on their own).
It is starting to wear on us, because the process has taken four years to get to this point, and even the lady is C&P was commenting, "damn honey, they have really let you slip through the cracks." And that is starting to scare the spouse, because you never want to hear that.
Any help/advice/phone number to try to call would be appreciated.
