Ok here it goes ,I fell during a rope training exercise and broke my right tibia and fibula . IM nail (titanium rod) was installed , my leg was immobilized for 2 months and was on crutches for 4 months . In that time i never was aware that the ankle and knee were in as bad of shape as they were until i started trying to run by order of my physical therapist .After 4 months I had to have 2 screws removed due to one of them bending , and that screw broke off in my leg and half of it is still there. I have been rehabing for a total of 13 months and still walk with a bad limp and have a P3 profile that says i can't do anything except ride a bike at own pace . the ankle and knee have most of their range of motion back , but hurt really bad when weight bearing . I also have degenerative disc disease in my lower back and some pinched nerves in my back that weren't bad enough to be added in I guess.
My MEB was sent with 4 things listed .

1)Post Tibial/Fibula fracture management
2)Chronic post operative pain status post fracture management
3)Chronic right ankle pain since date of surgery
4)Chronic right knee pain since date of surgery

Any clue as to whether i should be able to get 30% any other ideas or comments are welcome , since i can't seem to find anyone with a similar problem .

jbisby,

Welcome!

Sounds clear that your condition should be found to be combat related. That will help you with your pay being non-taxable and likely result in concurrent receipt of VA pay.

I would not say that this is correct. They should have addressed it in your MEB.

Hard to say without more information, but if all are unfitting, it may well equal 30%.

We have an identical injury. I fell from the rope also and broke the tib/fib and had the IM nail. I've had pain since 2007. How far along are you in the process?
