Situation: The Air Force just issued an IPEB decision for a USAF reservist who served in OIF. The only unfitting condition listed in block 9 of the AF 356 is PTSD, Code 9411, rated at 70%. In block 15, Remarks, it explicitly states that the IPEB finds the individual unfit and recommends placement on the TDRL with a 70% temporary rating per the VASRD. However, in block 11, the compensable percentage is only 50%. The PEBLO insists that this is because the VA will compensate the individual him at 70%, but the Air Force will only give him 50%. I'm thinking the PEBLO just doesn't know what she's talking about and that it was a simple clerical error (Occam's Razor). Has anyone else seen something like this?
