So I screwed my back up on a bad jump over a year ago. My doctor recommended me for a meb last week. I just want to know what to expect next and recieve a summary of the process. And will someone contact me or what? I was recommended last Friday and haven't heard anything since. Do I need to do something or do I just wait for someone to contact me?

You should be contacted by your PEBLO within 10 business days. I will say keep expecting someone to contact you between now and when the 10 business days will be over. I got contacted on the 5th business day that I was referred.

Alright thanks hopefully I'll get a call soon. Can anyone give me a short summary of the med board process?

Hey guys I finally got the ball rolling. Just finished up several briefings this week. Met my peblo very briefly last week. Still no call from the VA yet. But I do have a c&p exam on post September 6. I haven't been informed on what it is yet or what to expect. Can anyone offer me information please?

You can pretty much figure to have a C&P exam for each of the areas you claim. for example, someone claiming back injury, shoulder injury and PTSD can expect to have at least two C&P exams. One physical eval the other mental eval. its possible that the SM could have three one for each claim. Its really dependent on the depth of claim and the specialty of the C&P examiner.

So my C&P is finished with. The doctor told me my conditions were found to be potentially unfitting by the MEB and that when I finish my VA appointments that my case would be forwarded to the PEB in Virginia. Can anyone explain to me where the process goes from here?

Actually once your VA appointments are complete it comes to the MEB for review. The MEB the writes the NARSUM and sends that all to the IPEB. If found Unfit at the IPEB it will be sent to VA for ratings then back to the IPEB then back to PEBLO to officially present to you

I have a helpful spreadsheet with condition and related DBQ's attached along with the CFR 38. Send me you email if you want it. Its important to know what questions the doctor must answer (DBQ) and you MUST understand how disability is established (CFR 38)

Check the attached file for MEB process. I hope this helps!
How to did you convert files to be able to upload them? I have a spreadsheet in Excel that I would like to share.

Can you post it up here?

So I completed my VA exams last week. From my understanding after the results are finalized they go to my doctor who completes my NARSUM. Then I go to legal and then I sign it? Is that about right?

Going to legal is optional but highly suggested. And yes you have the sequence correct. you also need a non-medical assessment from your command.

Who's is your PEBLO, since you mentioned jump injury is safe to assume you might be at Bragg?

Can I have that spreadsheet as well?

Here you go.

@J.B.
Did you put this together?

Great document to have, either way, thanks for sharing.

Alright so I unofficially reviewed my NARSUM with care Coalition and they said I would get a 30% rating on my back, 20% for my hip and 10% for each leg (bi-lateral parethesia). My question is what will my overrall rating be. The guy at care Coalition added those up and said you're Looking at 70%. But I'm pretty they have an algorithm to look at it. I'm just trying to figure out what my actual ratings will look like.
