Hello everyone! First time posting, please bear with me if I am using the wrong forum or format.
For context, I am an active duty E-4, Army, currently going through the IDES process. I am at the point in which I've received my NARSUM and am awaiting my appointment with legal to discuss my options.
I was informed today (by someone who went through medical retirement years ago) that it is possible for me to receive an automatic promotion to E-5 on my way out the door. I am a 68C, I am promotable but do not meet points whatsoever. Unfortunately, points for this MOS are very high and it's nearly impossible to make the limit without being able to do ACFT or weapons (permanent profiles.)
Does anyone have any clue if this info is true? Or possibly any other relevant issue that could help me out here? This MEB was not how I anticipated my service ending, and I'll be quite bummed if I get kicked to the curb before being able to make 5. Thanks in advance!
