I am in the Air Force and my IPEB was mailed to San Antonio 11 Dec, and I am still waiting on an answer. I have been told they are running behind so it is taking 8-10 weeks from the date of receipt for processing. I have a feeling that this is not very accurate and suspect it is more like 14 to 16 weeks. I would like to know how long people have been waiting or if anyone received an answer from a Nov or Dec filing, how long it took. Thanks

Anyone that is waiting for Air Force IPEB to be returned OR recently received an
10 weeks is about the norm right now, with exceptions for any complex cases where objective testing data or imaging studies are more than a few months old regarding potentially unfitting, i.e. Cat I, conditions.
In those cases, it may take longer as the medical officer determines whether further case development- i.e. new studies responding to the point made above- is necessary.
While some cases may take longer, I suspect that you will receive your findings within a few days.

My package was sent to Randolph on 22 Dec 08 and still no answer. I was told it may take up to 14 weeks due to the number of cases and being under staffed. Hopefully something will happen soon.

My IPEB was initiated in mid May. I was told that I wouldn't hear anything back until about 6-8 weeks later. In about mid SepI was told that it was then being sent to Randolph. In October I was notified by a phone message that the Informal board had met and offered me discharge with severance and 20% disability. I was then told that since I did not concur with their findings, I would be down at Lackland within 4 weeks to meet with the formal board.
Well, the FPEB office was moving to a new location and I did not get there until the second week of Jan. I was there for a week and a half, found fit for duty, and it still took another 3 weeks until my MEB/PMEB code was lifted. Things are still a little in disarray. It is a slow process to say the least.

I too, had my PEB package sent on 11 Dec 08 to Randolph and have heard nothing except the typical, "as soon as we hear anything.." I can't tell you how many times I've heard a doctor retired, so they are short staffed.
How long did they know the doctor was going to retire and why wasn't he replaced? I'm just frustrated and tired and it's making my symptoms worse.

My IPEB package was sent over (walked over actually I think, since I am stationed on Randolph) on 30 Jan 09. The PEBLO originally told me 6-8 weeks. When I hit 6 weeks I asked for an update and was told 8-12 weeks.
I hit 8 weeks today.

I received my IPEB package back today. Discharge with Severance Pay, 10% rating for Crohn's Disease (7399-7323). No Cat II or III findings. I plan to appeal for a higher rating, shooting for 30%.

I spoke with someone today AF that was 9 weeks. Looks like it may be getting shorter than the 12 weeks? Then again some that were sent up after or around mine are already back. However one was found fit and the other was Just cut and dry 100% terminal cancer.

I don't know if this had an effect or not, but just a few days before I received my finding back, I had emailed my PEBLO asking her to seek an approval for some leave I plan to take in April. (Air Force rules state that while in the DES, leave must be approved by AFPC). So, maybe my asking for that permission to take leave made them look at my cases sooner? On the other hand, I was told 8-12 weeks, and it took 9, so it may all just be a figment of my imagination

My MEB in the Air Force was started 8 months ago. I havent been contacted by a single person. I have taken leave and gone TDY and they havent said anything aboot it. My supervision doesnt care aboot it. So hopefuly it works out for you.
