Hey what's going on everyone, I was just seeing if there was anyone in the Ft Meade area going through or already completed this process, I am curious to see how their timeline went. Below is where I am stuck at:

Currently I am in the "VA Phase" - I have been in that phase for 58 days now, even though I called the VA and they pretty much told me my packet is complete on their end and it "should" be back with the PEB ?? So I emailed my PEBLO (2 weeks ago) and she said that she has not seen anything and I need to "standby". I am not trying to rush things, all I am trying to do is get my VA% so I can apply for VocRehab and start taking some certification courses.

I was told that I needed to be proactive and clear CIF and complete SFL-TAP.. which is all complete and now my unit has no clue what to do with me. I still need to clear housing, I am staying local so I can do what they call a "courtesy move" in order to clear to retire without wasting my final pcs move, but in order to do that I need orders.. which I don't see coming anytime soon.

Hi, I'm in the D.C. area and currently in the "at VA for ratings" step as well. See my signature block for timeline. I can't imagine waiting 58 days from this point. I hope yours (and mine!) gets some movement. I'm impatient and stressed out and it's only been at the VA for a week!

Down here in VA Beach at Fort Story, my board goes through Fort Eustis. On day 62 waiting for ratings from the VA and still counting.

Hey I am not in that area but I can tell you that you do not need the VA ratings in order to begin Voc Rehab. I started Voc Rehab the same month I was referred in October and have been taking classes since and I am still on Active duty. All you need is the referral to MEB to begin the process. I am now in the PDA phase waiting for approval to get my letter of release. Goodluck!!!

Dam, I met with the Voc rehab person out here in April and he said that I did need my ratings in order to start. I just sent him an email asking again.

Since yur already in Voc rehab you might be able to claify some of "stuff" I've been told.. do you get the subsistence allowance while still active/terminal leave and will they buy you a computer/laptop if yur course requires it like online training ? I was told yes to both those questions by the VA counselor during the lovely SFL-TAP classes

You do not get any extra income because you are active duty. But they will buy the laptop and cover books and supplies as well. You don't get the allowance until you're out of the military. I will be getting the BAH when I'm out because I haven't used my Post 9-11 and I transferred to Voc Rehab. If you don't have any of your Post 911 left you will get the allowance which is about $600 a month. All you need is at least one month left on the 911 to get the BAH amount. If youre on FB go to this group and you can get a lot of your questions answered about Voc Rehab. https://m.facebook.com/groups/134152847268?ref=bookmarks
