I did not call the VA guy today but I did get a call from the VA to update my account information for payment. I asked her if she could tell me what I was looking at and she told me right now they are looking at 80% which is great. I guess now I just wait to hear from my PEBLO for my 199. I am assuming that my ratings will now go to the PEB and then to my PEBLO. Am I correct on that?
Btw my ebenfits still says decision pending approval.
Correct. Once VA has your preliminary rating, they will send that to the PEB who then drafts the DA 199. It only took 2 weeks for all that to happen for me.
I'm beginning to be a broken record in reply to this topic of ebenefits = decision pending approval. Ebenefits is not 100% hell I'd venture to say 50% accurate within their time frames when they annotate status updates. My ebenefits site shows my claim as still in decision pending approval - but signed my AF 356 and submitted already in agreement with PEB findings on 7 Jun 2012. My documents were dated 29 May 2012, the "official VA ratings proposals from my PEBLO were dated 2 and 4 May 2012, and my status has been stuck there (pending decision approval) since 9 April 12. If you see it move that's good, know that you should at this time be better off calling the VA and trying to find out an answer I suppose if it's been longer than 30 days but they may not help. The status Pending Decision Approval is accurate in most cases. Your VA decision is not finalized until you are out of service. Once the VA gets your DD214 and you are eligible for VA benefits, that pending approval status will change. Remember, right now, anything the VA tells you is a proposal. The only thing that is pretty much definite is your unfit condition(s). Those ratings wont change unless you appeal for a FPEB, but after you are discharged, your unfitting percentages can change to either a higher or lower rating depending on if there is improvement or worsening of a condition. I just would be careful telling people that eBenefits isn't accurate. For most people I think it is an accurate description of their status. It might take a couple days to be updated, but I followed mine almost daily and it was always accurate. I received my proposals, signed my DA 199 and now awaiting orders. My VA status says pending decision approval still, but until I am discharged, that shouldn't change.
did u receive ur ratings in the mail before your peblo called to tell you to come and sign ur DA 199? Does everyone receive the rating in the mail or do u have to request it?
Yes. I never got the ratings from the Seattle VA office where my preliminary ratings were calculated though. I called the 1-800 VA number and was connected to a call center in Arizona. That individual mailed me my preliminary ratings and I receive them within a few days. I never received the same documents from Seattle, even though they said they sent the findings to me before I called the Arizona call center. Once I knew the preliminary findings were in the mail, I called my VA rep at Tripler and he told me my prelim ratings over the phone. The following Monday, I called my PEBLO, asked if she had an update. She said she didn't. So I eventually told her that I in fact had an update for her and told her my preliminary findings and how I went about getting that info which I stated above and in another thread somewhere in the forum. When I went to sign my DA 199, the same prelim rating letter I received from Arizona was in my files, except it was from the Seattle office. If I wouldn't have called the VA and got connected to the individual in Arizona, I wouldn't have received anything in the mail. You VA rep should have this same info if your prelim ratings have been completed. All my rep did was type in my info on his computer and read to me the findings. I really don't understand why everyone else has issues. It should work the same way for everyone. Perhaps my rep wasn't too busy at the moment, but if the information is available, it should not be withheld from the service member.

Where was your PEB located? Mine is San Antonio Fort Sam Houston. I emailed my PEBLO on friday to see if he got the preliminary ratings and if not could he check with the PEB to see if they got them. I have not gotten a response yet but plan to visit his office tomorrow. If I do not get an answer from him, I will call the PEB or ombudsman here on post to find out.

My PEBLO is in Hawaii, PEB was at Ft Lewis, and the VA center was the Seattle office. Hope you get results soon.
After calling the VA Number @ 1-800-827-1000, press 110 as soon as the recording starts and it will forward you to a person (if one is available). If they are slammed with calls you will hear a notification about scheduling an appointment. Today I was able to schedule a call back for 30 minutes later. In the past I have made it directly to a person with no wait. It all depends. I hope this helps.
I tried calling the PEB myself like another member had and boy do I regret that. Im so glad that whoever I spoke to did not ask for my name. He chewed me a new one basically told me that I cannot just call the PEB to check to see if they received my ratings yet and that I needed to go through my PEBLO. I emailed my PEBLO four days ago, still no answer. So the wife called the ombudsman and she is going to have my PEBLO call me first thing tomorrow morning. So a bit of advice DO NOT call the PEB down in San Antonio because you will get no where but yelled at. On a better note the ombudsman told me to go to the local Social Security place and file for Social Security Disability, so I will be doing that tomorrow. You can apply while still in the Army and receive a check.
Quite a few threads regarding this on the forum. SSDI is an awesome benefit if you qualify, but read up on the forum and see what to do and what not to do. I was denied twice and have to remain in Hawaii and extra couple weeks past my Final Out just so I can make my Formal Appeal Hearing.
