AMRO Advice

Hi all,

I went for my SHPE(Final out will be 16 JAN, Terminal 17 JAN, and EAS 28 FEB)) and was told I was going to get referred to an AMRO to see if a MED Board is necessary. Apparently it eluded everyone to start this earlier. I already have orders and at the tail end of VA BDD process( only 2 more C&Ps left next week). Odds are I will get 100% through VA. I am separating and I have not been deployed due to the nature of my jobs so I do not see the value of going through the medboard process. Am I within my rights to refuse/waive the AMRO boards decision and continue with my separation? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

the value is the possibility of medical retirement (tricare for life) if you go through the full board

Maybe. Each serving has different regulations. Depending on on your branch the rules may be different between officer and enlisted. TriCare is great insurance.
