Already Discharged, Now What?

I know of a National Guard Soldier who was injured while in Iraq. He came home and was given a non-duty related discharge. He didn't know about the DES at the time and signed the discharge. Is there anything he can do now in order to go back and go through the DES?

In the case you described, the most likely option would be to apply to the Board for Correction of Military Records for his branch (Army or Air Force). There is also the possibility of suing for reinstatement directly in Federal District Court.
