Out of curiosity how many have been retired after the PEB and how many had severance and how many found fit even though they are not deployable? MDD, GAD, And Bilateral Fusions in feet are the referred conditions for unfitting (VA currently Rated MDD and GAD as a single Condition at 30%, and the Feet issue also 30%)…. It's pretty likely i'll be retired, but i'm not sure.

I doubt a 30% MH rating will be found unfitting. The feet is another issue.

Thanks. I was just stating what the VA already has me rated at for those conditions. I was already found unfit by NGB/SG

@chaplaincharlie im sure my mental health will be increased....

well More fun. VA evaluated me for PTSD.... Here is the C&P results:

each diagnosis?

symptoms are interrelated and impossible to differentiate

differentiate which impairment is caused by each mental disorder?

occupational and social impairment indicated above is caused by the TBI?

I would take this as... well you Do have PTSD but it is not service connected....

well I didn't have these issues 20 Years ago... How else would I have gotten it??????

Seemingly they are linking it back to my anxiety and depression I'm already rated for (I Hope)…. Confusing.... can anyone help me figure this piece out?

the MEB/PEB must be 30% or more in order to retire. That is the Military side and not the VA side, regardless if the VA rates you for a condition at 30% the Military may not think the same and may find you still fit for duty or rate you at a lower percent in which case you would just medical out instead of medically retiring.

Based on your PTSD rating, I retract my earlier comment.

yeah but they still didn't service connect me for PTSD, but this should still apply to my MDD and GAD (Depression and anxiety)… filed for increases on that part

My PTSD was found to be combat zone related but not unfitting, even at 50% VA rating - it was reduced to zero by the DoD ratings board.

PTSD
was listed on my FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDED DISPOSITION OF USAF PHYSICAL EVALUATION BOARD form but with the following note in the remarks section:

"The IPEB has reviewed the SM’s diagnoses and treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder;
Depression, Single Episode; Adjustment Disorder; and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and finds these conditions
do not prevent the reasonable performance of duties, do not impose unreasonable requirements to maintain or protect the
SM’s health, and do not represent a medical risk; therefore these conditions are currently not unfitting."

well @heathro1281 you just sunk my Battleship I'll probably be found fit and RTD.... finish out 2 more years as a DSG for a retirement I probably wont live to see at 60... 15 AD time down the crapper

But I believe in your Questionnaire it says you have more extreme symptoms than me?

[X] Difficulty in adapting to stressful circumstances, including work or a work like setting
[X] Suicidal ideation
[X] Impaired impulse control, such as unprovoked irritability with periods of violence
[X] Persistent delusions or hallucinations
[X] Neglect of personal appearance and hygiene
[X] Intermittent inability to perform activities of daily living, including maintenance of minimal personal hygiene

I would argue these are incompatible with military service as you can not reliably perform assigned duties, or present a respectable military image in uniform if your condition prevents proper self hygiene?

If you were found fit, I would argue and appeal these symptoms present a possible negative image of a service member performing duties in uniform.

I only shave and take care of myself like that when I have to (like LOC/LOR or Art 15 if I didn't - being in uniform would be one of them except I've been horrible at my dental for a long time). also seeing a guy grimacing in pain, down all the time, and limping all the time in uniform also doesn't help the image (unless I was a DI and I could use that anger.... lol... id probably get in trouble for that too because the kids these days going to basic probably couldn't handle the angry and mean TSgt that freely uses F-Bombs...) and don't even get started on PT...

and I'm extremely paranoid ( I'm sure you gathered that from my posts)

Remember a lot of AFI 36-2903 deals with "presenting a proper military image" and the intent of a service member in uniform. Just because you are in regulations IAW dress and appearance and Fitness regs, there are many catch all statements in those regulations stating a commander can determine if the military image is being upheld.

my commander and her senior staff didn't like I was a smoker... and there were many complaints about that aspect from them on my last 2 EPR's

I just had the exam for my feet today.... apparently I also have a mental health and hearing..... The saga continues

I am still curious to your 30% , with the symptoms :

[X] Difficulty in adapting to stressful circumstances, including work or a work like setting
[X] Suicidal ideation
[X] Impaired impulse control, such as unprovoked irritability with periods of violence
[X] Persistent delusions or hallucinations
[X] Neglect of personal appearance and hygiene
[X] Intermittent inability to perform activities of daily living, including maintenance of minimal personal hygiene

If you don't like your outcome, I would appeal the rating should be higher? I believe people usually get 50-70 at least with those symptoms checked.
