Adding additional unfitting condition after paperwork sent to IPEB?

Air Force Active Duty just hit 10 years.

Currently my paperwork went up to the IPEB on April 14th and didn't have my Migraines listed, as there wasn't as much information as there should have been and I have an incompetent PCM. I recently got tests back with more proof of the migraines and wanted to add it to my case as an unfitting condition if possible.

I plan to reach out to the PEBLO tomorrow to see their perspective and my MSC for getting the report added to my records review for ratings. My migraines were on my VA forms and are a condition already but not unfitting.

Question I am wondering is what is the chance/possibilty of getting another doctor (or force my PCM) to write up an addendum or another NARSUM with the migraines to be added. I think I am on the cusp of being getting 80% with my 2 current conditions PTSD and TMJ but adding the Migraines would help immensely.

There are already listed on my CIS and in my records but weren't listed as an unfitting condition.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Biggest question on this piece is do you need to have the condition added to hit 30% for the DOD or would you be good with the other conditions pushing you over that percentage. I ask as you are just wanting to get to that magic number with the DOD for a medical retirement. You can always ensure that your migraines are listed with the VA side for them to give you a rating on them along with your other conditions. Most of us only have one or a few unfitting conditions that led to an MEB, but listed over a dozen with the VA for them to rate. It is always possible however that your MEB Doctor who does your NARSUM may add them after looking at your records. That’s what happened with my PTSD.

I am not too worried about getting over the 30%. My intention is to try and max out the DOD 75%. I am fairly certain I will get at least 70%. But the difference for me to go from 70-75% is a few hundred dollars a month. My DOD will be a higher payment at both 70-75 then 100% VA.

Makes sense then in your case. Best of luck on that piece. Like I said before it can potentially be added by the provider doing your NARSUM. My MTF refused to add my mental health MEB request from my therapist yet when my NARSUM was generated the provider on that side overruled them and added it himself.

Claim migraines with the VA. Upload any evidence such as head ache calendars to your VA claim on VA.gov along with statement in support of claim. If not referred then it probably will state fitting in NARSUM. Make sure you have a profile for migraines and that migraine symptoms are listed as preventing you from doing certain duties in your commander's impact statement. Make sure to appeal at every step where migraines are not listed as unfitting. Usually that is the NARSUM. So if the NARSUM states fitting then you would submit a rebuttal claiming why and how they should be unfitting.

Lastly, I always recommend hiring a dedicated private IDES attorney who specializes in this stuff. There are only a handful that do only this but they are very good at what they do and they know the inter workings to include PEB board members on a first name basis. They will know what is needed to convince the iPEB and or FPEB to rule in your favor. I will send you some vetted options. They are expensive but worth it. My wife hired one from the very start and it netted our family tens of thousands of additional compensation compared to going through the process alone. I am certain of it.

I had something similar to this, where my original NARSUM had no physical ailments and only my mental health condition. I requested an IMR to have my additional "duty limiting conditions" added to my NARSUM. Have you been in touch with the ODC? My counsel helped me with this IMR request and they added my migraines.
