I have had two complete ACL replacements on my left knee....The first one they ripped a liggamet from my thigh (same leg)....second surgery I received an allorgraph and they removed all of my meniscus....I lost feeling to the outside of my leg...my knee just couldnt handle extra weight without giving out (hence the unfit finding)..I have also had severe pain since the initial surgery in 2001...my knee bends but gives out and has done so since 2001...stairs can be tricky sometimes and uneven surfaces are a nightmare...I have a brace that I am supposed to ware if I play sports and I just noticed while reading my diagnosis the doctor said my leg was shorter (not sure exact length)....with all of this the Army during the Medical board listed my knee as merely a (Knee Sprain) and rated me at 0%. (I have done a little research and the actual term in GRADE 3 Sprain meaning most severe) The VA did the same...I never really argued with anyone especially the VA because other service connected issues has me rated at 70% and I am assuming because the army only found my knee unfit the VA has not taken back any of my severance pay....I am afraid if I make a fuss about my knee and the VA says ok here is 10% then they will then recoup my severance pay I received in 2007. I am not sure if the Army and the VA rated me wrong based on how my knee was actually listed...it just seems to me that simply saying knee sprain implies something not so serious and in all actuality I had two major knee surgeries that are correctly listed as GRADE 3 Knee Sprain...and both were not so successful because after the second surgery the doctor told me that the only thing left for me was a complete knee replacement and I would only get two chances for that....I was only 35 at the time making too young...and I am still too young...I guess it is hard for me to understand that I am waiting for a knee replacement that will happen but I am too young to get it now and that only rates at 0%...just confusing...I am always in pain sometimes severe pain that causes me to lose sleep 5 to 6 nights out of the week...can anyone give me some advice as to how I can approach this...or is it just take it and wait
