Accepted Findings Today

I accepted my findings today and I was told that ratings can sometimes change between the informal and formal board. My question is...when the ratings change, what is this based on? Thanks in advance!

You ratings will only change if you submitted more evidence for trying to get a higher rating. Sometimes this can backfire and return with a lower rating. Your ratings should not change from what yo signed today.

Do you mean 'proposed' and 'final' (instead of 'informal' and 'formal') rating letters from the VA? The formal board (aka FPEB) is a face to face meeting with the PEB appealing their decision...

Yes, I guess I mixed that up. I'm referring to proposed ratings to final ratings

As spoof pointed out, most likely your ratings won't change from what they are proposed now to what they will be at final (official) after separation. However, I've heard members on here talk about that their proposed ratings did change when they finally got official ratings.

Hmm, makes me curious what warranted these members change in final ratings. I know that I'm not planning on submitting anything else, but I have continued care since my board began since I'd only be hurting my own health by not doing so...I also wonder whether it might be worthwhile to seek an outside second opinion just in case I need to appeal later

I would definitely be taking your proposed ratings to MEB Legal to get another set of eyes on things...if you havn't.

Yeah, I did that as soon as I recieved my rating. I'm pretty happy with them the way they are since I worked really hard in the meb phase to have things put in correctly. My biggest issue is the fact that bh went ahead and changed my diagnosis then made me look like I'm some kind of gold digger bc I asked for medication. To be honest, I'm ready to be done and looking forward to choosing my own providers!

How long did it take you to get your Ratings from the VA? I know that I was found unfit and my PEBLO said my status was VA RATING OFFICER as of 07MAY2013. Thanks.

I went to my formal board to get my C-Spine DDD and Thoratic Radiculapathy added, because it was completely over-looked and my physical therapist stated it should be unfitting due to limited ROM and loss of function in my right arm.

I also wanted my TDRL changed to PDRL, since the DDD and radiculapathy would only get worse and could not get better. So having those added, changed my overall rating to PDRL.

That was why I went to my formal board. I took no new info, just pointed out where in my records it was located and that it was neglected.

1-3 months if everything goes as it should.

Max, it took approximately 45 days from the day I was found unfit to get my proposed ratings back!
