Currently 90% at $1100 for CRSC payment
My VA is ~$4640

Just got my award upgraded to 100% combat related for CRSC - I forgot to include my tbi on the first submission.

Also noticed the special monthly compensation section said the combined rating for SMC-49 is not combat related. The lesser SMC-48 is combat related.

I don’t think I had SMC previously.

Any idea what the SMC-48 is for and how much the new CRSC payment might be?

Hello,

If you are currently receiving $1100 for 90% CRSC, that is an indication that you are receiving the longevity portion of your retired pay as your CRSC, which is a CRSC ceiling.

CRSC at 100% will not increase the $1100 you now receive. You are receiving the max for your situation.

Ron,

Thank you for the response. I also calculated $1100 and was not sure if the SMC-48 would change anything. I couldn’t find anything regarding that particular item. Appreciate what you do for the military community.

Best,
Peter

Hey Ron,

Am I correct for thinking that the CRSC Ceiling will not be breached with the new SMC-48 award? Or perhaps there will be a separate payment added?

CRSC can NEVER exceed the longevity portion of retired pay. Good question though.
