I'm going to be skimming through that this weekend, I already saw one nice gesture: if a single servicemember loses their only child they'll still get BAH w/dependents for 365 days.
 
That's cool. Wish they'd do something for expecting mothers who lose a child in utero. As it exists now, there's no formal allowance for leave outside 14 days, without tapping into personal leave balance. No grieving period to speak of. Like, carry the kid to term, get 14 weeks (or whatever it is now). Lose the kid a month before due date, get nothing.

I know that's off-topic, but it's a raw spot for me.

Ouch! Not off-topic at all. Heck, I work for a company now as a contractor and there's zero bereavement leave. Three years ago, lost my stepdaughter (25yo, overdose, go figure), then 2 1/2 months ago, lost my wife. Sure, take as much time as you need, but we're not going to pay you. smh
