2 weeks waiting on Orders

paperwork made it to the PDA May 5th, called Mr Al at the PDA several times and all he can tell me is that my paperwork is under Direct Review, said that means that it's being look at by lawyers and doctors. Is that .. normal? He seemed like he had no idea what he was talking about and couldn't give me any info. Contacted my Ombudsman and he was also very pushy to get off the phone with me.

I know everyone is in the same boat, trying to be productive and call anyone with leverage on my case. it SHOULD NOT take more than 2 weeks or a month to take care of this last step of hitting TRANSPOC and getting orders.

Any advice? Is there anyone else I should try calling, anything I can say? This is pretty ridiculous and is really screwing up my timeline originally given to me.

Yes, it should take more than two weeks. It typically takes at least 30 days once you hit TRANSPROC for the orders to be cut.

There is nobody to call, just be patient and be prepared to get out of the military. Nearly every single person I have ever spoken to has always needed more time to prepare for the transition.

There is no rhyme or reason to how the PDA works our cases. In the middle of May I saw that a Soldier in my Unit made it through the PDA in 7 days, last week the "Interactive Report" was updated and showed another Soldier in my Unit completed theirs in 6 days (minimum days) and another in 15 days (maximum days). So this tells me that at least 3 other Soldiers in my Unit completed their PDA phase in 6, 7, and 15 days last month and I am sitting at 25 days. I do have an email into my Ombudsman, but I think he is on vacation this week so I am hoping to hear from him on Monday or Tuesday. I also tried calling the PDA two days ago and the oh so wonderful rude female who answered the phone tells me "the computer system is down, call your PEBLO" and hangs up......

I know folks working each phase of this process do not want to be harassed with phone calls, I do not understand why the Army/IDES does not set up a call center that has access to the system and can track packets through each phase (obviously the PEBLOs cannot). They could also set up an event driven script within the system the sends an email to the Soldier every time their packet moves from one stage to another. Oh wait, that would make to much sense.....

The VA is a paradox, that is a statement or proposition that, despite sound (or apparently sound) reasoning from acceptable premises, leads to a conclusion that seems senseless, logically unacceptable, or self-contradictory

Everyone wants their package back fast, good and cheap.

If we get it fast and good, it can't be cheap. We all want to say well just hire 5,000 more workers, but where does that money come from? From the VA budget.

If we want it done good and cheap, it can't be fast. I don't want my stuff flying through the system with a bunch of errors. I also don't want the VA to hire 5,000 more workers to review packets, because then the VA won't have the money to keep improving the medical care which is also in dire need of improvement. Smooth is slow, slow is fast. Getting the packet through without a bunch of revisions is exactly what we want.

If you want it cheap and fast, it won't be good. I don't think anyone wants this option.

When I'm finally finished with the process, I'm going to try to get a job with the VA to bring some Lean Six Sigma to the process.

Signed my 199 on March 29 and now waiting for my orders Nearly 9 weeks for orders with no end in sight. My peblo has stopped returning calls and the ombudsman don't pick up or respond to emails

so I posted this on another post but I've been waiting for my orders since 03APR2017, they are behind on cases because of their system being down and whatnot, this is what I did in these 2 months that I'm still waiting:
Called ombudsman
Called and emailed PEBLO
Called and emailed Supervisor of IDES
Called PDA (make sure when you call them ask to see if your case is in the system, that way you know that its up there at least and your PEBLO isn't giving you BS how mine did)
Did a informal request to expedite the process
Did a formal request to expedite the process.

According to the IDES office they told me that they don't know how PDA do their things so it could take someone 2 weeks or it could take someone 2 months to receive their orders, it just depends how they do their process. smh

If you don't take care of yourself no one will, don't just sit back and wait because they will take their sweet time with you, stay on top of your things you aren't the only one thats getting medically discharged.. Best of luck!

This has nothing to do with the VA...... Orders come from the USAPDA.....

Call congressman, make them do their jobs. Everyone on here is waiting and waiting hoping they will do their jobs. Not your fault their system sucks but all the pain is on you. If ombudsman and Peblo won't / can't help go higher. All I did was threaten with congressman and went from no 199(64 days), to having orders in hand in 4 days. 1 day to wait for 199 (last Thursday), got my date from PDA next day (Tuesday after 4 days weekend) I signed, orders 2 days later (this past Thursday), and sign out on terminal leave on 15th of June.

61 Days waiting on Orders...
PEBLO and Ombudsman emailed Command and said stop calling for updates. No transparency. Living nightmare.

Is there anything I can do...

Read my above post. I went from no 199, to having orders in hand in 4 days.

Yeah I've already contacted PEBLO supervisor, Ombudsman.. said I would get Congress involved. Both PEBLO and Ombudsman contacted my Command and I was brought into 1SGT office to get scolded and told to not contact them.

I signed my 199 May 3rd, made it to PDA May 5th.

I'm completely in the dark. Starting to think my paperwork is lost.
