So I have been found 100% disabled both air force and VA (permanent Retirement)... I believe im still employable?

I also got a Special monthly Compensation (SMK) code K..

I know that its for loss, and loss of use for certain body parts but what does it pay?

Thank you to everyone in this forum who made this process a lot easier for me!

It pays about $103 a month added to your regular VA payment

thank you,

is that per leg? or total?

I see that you are also 100% DoD, are you still employable?

I am a not sure if it's per extremity and as far as I know I am employable no one has said anything different

how long have you been 100%? Ive been reading conflicting reports of people with 100 working and getting their rating reduced because of that... im so confused...

I am still on active duty I retire in July. I am not sure about them reducing anything you will have to seek one of the experts ( MaParker or Jason Perry).

I too am also still on Active Duty... I called the airmans council today to hopefully get some info.. waiting for them to call back

38 U.S.C. 1114 explains the SMC codes. For SMC-K:
· loss, or loss (L/LOU) of use, of a creative organ
· L/LOU of a hand
· L/LOU of a foot
· loss of use of both buttocks
· deafness of both ears
· complete organic aphonia
· blindness in one eye, having only light perception, and

K can be awarded multiple times, however if you have two legs or two feet missing, k would not be the correct rate. L would be both feet, M would be both legs below the knee, N would be both legs.

As long as you are 100% scheduler there is no restriction on working, I would say its even, as you are eligible for voc rehab to get skills to get back to work.

There is some disagreement on if 100% rating for MH condition would be allowed, as the rating criteria suggests you couldn't work. Working is a good reason to schedule a re-exam. Only if you are 100% for TDIU will they cross check with IRS to verify you aren't working.
