Tricare vs State Health Benefits for PDRL

Recently Retired ArmyReserve-PDRL Due to PDRL I qualified for Tricare. After researching, found Tricare Select was better option, we live about 1:15 from MTF. Plus I hate having to get referrals for specialist. However, I still have another 6 years with my state job (for total of 25) for me...

    20% DoD/100% VA, should I appeal? (100k severance pay)

Just got my ratings and I am at 20% DoD/100% VA. My severance pay will be around 95-100k and there should be no recoupment as I would still be 100% VA without my 20% DoD condition(if I understand this correctly?). I have a family of 4 (two kids under age 2) so I am trying to make the best...

    MEB - Health Insurance/tricare

So from what I’ve been told you get tricare if you have a 30% of greater dod rating. But I was on tricare and I thought I read about a year ago they give this other type of insurance instead of tricare? Is there any recent medical retirees that can clear the air, is tricare for life still a thing?

    McCord v. United States 2018-08-01

This case is very important as it provides at least persuasive authority for the possibility of members who fight for disability retirement after getting separation pay to not have to have an offset as well as the recovery of Tricare benefits.

I recently was notified my separation, with severance, was re-characterized as retirement. Regarding enrolling in Tri-Care from date of “separation”, do you have to pay the annual premiums up to date? For me that’s 13 years. If so, can you submit a claim requesting repayment of medical...

Tricare Benefits if 100% TDRL rating is reduced to lower PDRL rating

I currently am rated 100% by the VA and 100% for TDRL, but I fear that my lack of treatment compliance with regular doctor visits in the last two years will almost certainly reduce my PDRL rating substantially, if they even deem me worthy of PDRL status at all. Accordingly, I have three...

    RETROGRADE TRICARE ISSUES

You are also eligible for retrograde Tricare...which can be important if you or you family has paid out expenses. For example, I had insurance, however my co-pays were in the tens of thousands.
