    Transferred benefits to ex-wife...

So, while we were married, I transferred 12 months of Post-911 GI to the ex. She used them. I have now attended school on post-911 for 2 years, and was concerned about the transfer to Voc Rehab, since i lost those 12m. But I am now seeing on the milconnect website that those 12m are mine...

    Possible Change of Station?

Like Jason said, it is not supposed to happen, compassionate reassignment or not. But if your doctors agree it would be in your best interest, the PEBLO is in line, etc., then it can.

    Admin Sep Advice/Help

Do not just accept that they want to adminsep you. You are injured, whether they want to believe it or not. Fight for an MEB, you deserve it.

    Medical or regular retirement?

During a MEB, you will be assigned a PEBLO (Physical Evaluation Board Liason Officer). They will be able to guide you through the entire process. They will make your DoD and VA appointments for you, track where your packet is, and keep you informed of when the status changes. A medical...

    Rating Appeal, Good or Bad?

40% for your back? That's pretty good, I wouldn't appeal that, personally.

Time from signing 199 to terminal leave at Ft. Bliss?

True you aren't SUPPOSED to start working while on terminal leave, but that doesn't stop many people. What are they gonna do, bring you back in and deploy you? So basically, it's 6 in one hand, half a dozen in the other. All depends on your personal situation.

Time from signing 199 to terminal leave at Ft. Bliss?

That's what I have heard is a 28% tax rate, just like bonuses. SGT Bob, that is a good point and a good way to look at it. My experience has mainly been with wounded warrios at Walter Reed who already had jobs lined up from all the job fairs they would put on there. They could take 2 months of...

    PDRL 70% VA 50% DoD

Being retired, you will recieve retirement pay from DFAS based on your situation. After that is computed, if the VA % amount is greater, then you will receive more from the VA. Basically, you will get an amount equal to whichever is higher.

    PDRL 70% VA 50% DoD

They are two entirely different figures. the DoD is computed based on your current pay grade and TIS. The VA figure is based on their own scale. You should go to this site to determine a close estimate of what to expect.: http://www.dfas.mil/militarymembers/woundedwarrior/disabledretireest.html

Time from signing 199 to terminal leave at Ft. Bliss?

Personally, I believe it is better to take the leave instead of selling it back. 2 months of a full paycheck, w/ BAH and BAS, compared to a payout of just base pay, which I have heard they also tax at a premium rate. I liken it to winning the lottery and choosing between an anuity, or the lump...

Time from signing 199 to terminal leave at Ft. Bliss?

That's very possible. most likely you will have to sell off some of the leave, I don't think you'll get your BDE commander to approve that much plus PTDY

Time from signing 199 to terminal leave at Ft. Bliss?

When I was working at Walter Reed as squad leader in the Warrior Transition Brigade there, that's what they told us and always had us do when we put warriors on retirement leave.

Time from signing 199 to terminal leave at Ft. Bliss?

You have 90 days total to do everything once you are placed on TRANSPOC. That's clear, take any transitional/PTDY leave, etc. You'll go to transitions with your orders, and choose a retirement date within that 90 day window with them. They will 'encourage' you to choose a date between 21-27th...

I believe it was a DA 248, or something along those lines. It is the flag form. PEBLO asked for it at the beginning.

    NMCP timeline

with 90% DOD, you'll recieve 75% of your high-3 base pay, and then the VA will pay more if it warrants it for your situation. use this calculator, fill in the details, and it should give you a good approximation for what you should expect...

Anyone know the VA Codes on PEB Unfit Memo?

Ok then for mine: My back all 3 V codes were a no, but for my dysthymia all 3 V codes were a yes. If I am understanding this part correctly, that means that whatever % I get rated for dysthymia I will be able to claim CRSC?
