    Need assistnace with decision

You should definitely appeal. Appealing it is very easy, take a copy of your NARSUM to the MEB legal counsel, along with your proof on what is wrong with the NARSUM. The attorney will type up the memo for you with all the regulations cited. I just appealed mine this week, and it is in your...

    What do I do now?

Agreed, take all the records to MEB counsel, show the VASRD definitions to them, and they will fight for your proper %.

All current and Prior 4 ID soldiers Must Read!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok just going to throw this out there even though it seems completely obvious: I'm assuming this should only apply to people who ETSed or retired from 4ID, those of us who PCSed from them 9 years ago and are still serving should OBVIOUSLY not be under some junk AWOL status.

time after surgery till med board process?

Every case is different, there is supposed to be a standard time line, which when he starts the MEB he will be briefed on it, and you can be there too. As far as starting the MEB, it all depends on whther the doctors think more treatment will improve his conditions, or whether they think he has...

    Ft. Meade Timeline

Wow, that seems to be a very accelerated timeline. I started mine in July at Fort Bliss, and I am just now about to review and sign my comp. NARSUM, with very near the same diagnosis. Good luck with keeping it fast like this.

How do you update your MEB package?

But that would require common sense, and as we all know, common sense doesn't exist anymore. I feel you pain, brother.

Anyone else getting grief cause of conditions.

Unfortuantely in a military environment that is laden with alpha personality types, when you are injured/sick, they all pounce. It doesn't matter who you were before it happened, it only matters how weak you are now. It is a long-lasting problem that needs to be quashed from the lowest levels of...

It has finally begun!! It may be too late, any advice? Need Legal advice...

I'm not certain of the Marines in particular, but I do know that in the Army once you are referred to an MEB, all flags and bar to reenlistments are removed by the IDES people. And your unit can no longer separate you administratively for things like PT failure/Weight control program, only by...

It has finally begun!! It may be too late, any advice? Need Legal advice...

MEB is counted as physical disabilities proceedings along with PEB. Once you finally got referred on 1 OCT, you were officially in physical disabilities proceedings. They really can't touch you. Along with that, if they try anything, you always have to see a JAG attorney for anything, and...

Soldier can't take much more of this harassment!!!

He has every right to go to the ER and be seen by the psychiatrist there. If he is having homicidal/suicidal ideations, for everyones protection they will put him in the psychiatric ward. Up there, he will talk to many different people and doctors, and participate in different treatments. It...

    VA rater called me today

Sounds like you lucked out with a direct call. Could have added a couple of months otherwise.

    PEB ending process question

Definitely looks low-balled to me. Have you signed off on that? Still in your timeframe for appeals? Having worked as a squad leader at WTB at Walter Reed, I have seen a lot of times the board will low-ball the figure at first to see which people accept and just want out, and who is willing...

    PEB ending process question

according to VASRD, it looks like level 3 TBI was rated at 40%. You only got rated 50% total from DoD? Almost sounds like you got shortchanged. We really would need to have a complete list of all yourn ratable conditions and what you are claiming with the VA to get an understanding of what...

    Help!

I've known only a handful of guys in the Army who came off TDRL and brought back in the Army, but that was pre-downsizing and wasn't for asthma. I would assume that with the force draw down, it will take a while with appeals to be put back active duty. Best of luck to you, though. Hopefully...

    PEB ending process question

Sorry bud, I wasn't trying to downplay your injuries. But with bothPDRL and TDRL (permamnent and temporary retirements),more physical ailments are usually PDRL and behavioral health stuff is usually TDRL to be re-evaluated. I was just trying to conjecture as to what list you might be placed...

    PEB ending process question

Looking at his avatar, it looks like knee issues. As Nwlivewire said, 50% is retirement, not severance.

    Question about command

Ya it does. Unfortunately, the whole mentality now is What can you do for me right fucking now. dDoesn't matter what you have done, were able to do, how many times you deployed, nothing.

    Question about command

I know WTUs have I.C.E. complaint computers everywhere, but then again if you were in a WTU the CoC wouldn't be as much of an issue. It's the line commands that really have no idea about anything with this process or what it really means for you as the soldier and their unit as a whole. My...

    Question about command

I would think it would need to be your DD214, only OFFICIAL way you can talk your feelings to them is once your are officially retired, otherwise they could always try to get you for disrespect, even if you are on transitional leave.
