    Promotion/Testing While in IDES

Yep, same. Tholley, that checks. However, it "could" be possible to be retained for awhile longer (limited duty) depending on how long my appeal(s) take; haven't had to cross that bridge yet. And, if for some reason I'm returned to duty off of TDRL, the promotion will definitely come into play.

    Promotion/Testing While in IDES

Not sure what fathawks problem is; seems he can dish it but not take it. Questions are asked on this forum not for "feel goods", but to gain better understanding of the system; arm yourself with knowledge. In the event I'm not able to put on the next rank if selected, that's fine and dandy...

    TDRL Re-evaluation time?

Yep, my VA documents state "an examination will be scheduled to determine whether a change in evaluation is warranted because a highly stressful event was severe enough to bring about your release from active military service. {38 CRF 4.129}. So it sounds like I should expect a VA...

Asthma and Sleep Apnea for USAF Pilot

I'm going through the end of the process now (see my timeline). One of my unfit conditions is asthma. I take daily Advair, Singular, and have albuterol as needed. They rated me 30% for that. I may have been found fit for that if it was the only potentially unfitting condition I have...but...

    TDRL Re-evaluation time?

Reading thru VA mental health information regarding PTSD... §4.129 Mental disorders due to traumatic stress. When a mental disorder that develops in service as a result of a highly stressful event is severe enough to bring about the veteran’s release from active military service, the rating...

    Promotion/Testing While in IDES

    1. Your are correct, no one in history has been promoted prior to being selected for promotion. One would have to be selected in order to be promoted. If I tested, package met the board, and I was selected for promotion, I believe it is fair to say I earned that promotion and should be able...

    Promotion/Testing While in IDES

Perhaps someone has some first hand knowledge with this. I've looked in AFI 36-3212 and 36-2502, but can't seem to nail down a definitive answer.... 1. Pretty sure you can test while in IDES (being otherwise eligible) up until you receive retirement orders, yes? 2. In the event I test and...

    Air Force CRSC gouge

Attorney sent in summary prior to the FPEB---the board denied it. Off to the FPEB to plead my case. I don't expect a different outcome in person, so I'm already looking to the SECAF appeal. Shoot, by the time a SECAF decision comes down, I may have a line number for E-9 and have 1 year and...

    Advice on FPEB?

Just received notice that the "summary" that OAC sent to the board for my appeal of a "not combat related" finding for PTSD and a finding that my asthma did not occur in the combat zone came back both denied. Pressing forward with the in-person FPEB on 14JUN16. My thoughts are that if they...

    CRSC for drone operators???

Well, my attorney sent in the summary package to the FPEB challenging the non-combat related finding for PTSD. They denied it. So, I'll be heading to San Antonio in a couple weeks for the in-person board. I don't see them changing their mind. I've given them all the ammo I have...perhaps if...

    Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy in Japan

Per my IDES package..."If selected (officer) for promotion or your line number (enlisted) is prior to the date of the SAF memorandum approving your retirement, you may be retired in the regular or Reserve grade to which you had been selected and would have been promoted had it not been for the...

    CRSC for drone operators???

That's what we're hoping for. OAC says PEB award of "combat related" has been an issue for nearly everyone recently. I feel pretty good about getting it from the FPEB. At least I'll be able to look them in the eye if they tell me it's not combat related.

    Air Force CRSC gouge

Just realized I missed something. One of my unfitting conditions, Reactive Airway Disease rated at 30%, didn't have "combat zone" or "combat related" next to it on the PEB findings. Breathing issues started after my first deployment downrange and are well documented to include supporting...

    Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy in Japan

BTW Laika, before I got my ratings, I asked my PEBLO if she could tell me what my VA ratings were. She said absolutely not, they'd get in deep sh*t for that. Big no no apparently.

    Air Force CRSC gouge

Copy all. This is a sensitive subject because it revolves around RPA (drones) operations and the associated stigma the subject brings while relating to PTSD. Multiple mulitiple multiple combat actions which combined have led to my PTSD. Off the top of my head, I can remember at least a dozen...

    Found fit for asthma

I was just found unfit for Reactive Airway Disease (asthma) rated 30% DoD and 30% VA due to daily use of inhalational therapy (Advair) and inhalational anti-inflammatory medication (Albuterol). I also have a "no running" profile and am not deployable. Daily Advair use is the key in my case to...

    VA pay vs. DoD retirement

Oh ya, just read in my guide that those retired under TDRL are not eligible for the Limited Duty Assignment status. So, unless I can get that changed to PDRL on the appeal, further discussion of the pay benefits of staying until 20 are irrelevant.

    VA pay vs. DoD retirement

Figured at 20, I'd just go CDRP since it's automatic. Haven't broke that down. I'm more concerned with CRSC at 18 in the event I'm not approved for Limited Duty.
