  • Hello Jason,

I just need a second opinion on my stituation. I have a formal hearing scheduled for May 13. My JAG lawyer is looking over my case now, but it doesn't hurt to get some more input. If you could get back to me when you have the time, it would be appreciated. My email is GTC526@aol.com. Thanks and take care.
My question has nothing to do with medical, but while researching a medical issue for one of my soldiers I noteced something you did that may give you a unique insight to my own dilemma. I am currently a 2LT in the reserves and I very much want to be on active duty. I noticed that you had served a time in the NG before you went active duty. I have contacted numerous people in my CoC and HRC as well as my career manager and no one seems to know anything about how to transfer a reserve officer to active duty. Do you have any guidance in this area? Thank you.

My husband recieved word back from CRSC. They are not going to pay him because the army paid mark while he was collecting both VA and Army. I am just extremely confused on what is going on. I feel like my husband is not getting any support and if I am wrong he is still part of the army. He is still TDRL...I don't know where to go anymore or what to do but we are in serious need of help and don't knwo where to turn anymore.
I see other posts, and was wondering how someone would get a rating from the VA proir to seperation from service? I was told that I wouldn't even be seen by the VA until I have been seperated. Uugghhh! So much to learn! And running out of time! I wish I found this place sooner!!!!
Hi Jason, I spoke to you the phone previously. I was found fit for duty (final) on Thursday, April 16. My unit now wants to weigh me in. I have a note from my doctor stating that my medicine causes weight gain. Is there anything in regs/law regarding this? Thanks.
    Jason,

I was wondering if my commander has to release me to WTU? I do not need to go and i already have my profile and narsum close to completion
    Jason,

First of all, I appreciate all of the help you provide to people out there with questions unanswered. My psych Dr. diagnosed me with Chronic PTSD and said given this condition and diagnosis, I have to decide whether or not it affects my job peformance to where I can't handle it. I can't. I saw my PCM about it this past Thursday and he referred me to the MEB and gave me a temporary profile with a 3 on the S of the PUHLES. Do you have any idea what this first appt will be about? It is at the Warrior Care Clinic on post and they told me to come in PT's. Will I meet my PEBLO that day? I can't help but be anxious about all of this, thinking that something might go wrong and the MEB might not work out. Is there anything in specific you can recommend for me to strengthen my case at all? Any documents I should maybe present? And if so, when and to whom? Also, I am an Infantryman if that has any pull on the MEB/PEB process with regard to PTSD. I hope so. What's your take?

    Jason-

I am not sure if you have seen my previous post. I have recently recieved a letter to return for a re-evaluation to see if my condition is "stable". This is my first time being re-evaluated. I am nervous and am wondering how to prepare for this meeting with the doctor? What do I bring? How do I prepare? I need your help. Send me an e-mail tilldeath_marine@yahoo.com
    Jason,

I'm now at 19.5 years (AF) and trying to hit my 20 year mark. My MEB package has been submitted and I'm scared to death I will not get my 20 year retirement. Any insight to ease my mind would be greatfully appreciated.

    Cheers
Also I am 100% from the VA and while waiting from my PEB rating I was diagnosed with Vestibular Hypofunction with vertigo getting treated for it, diagnosed with TBI by the VA(army said i dont have it, but VA tested me they said I do), Major Deppressive Disorder. With all those condition diagnose, these are not included on my original VA rating. But with 100% rating I am not after any money, I am maxed out, do you think
I should still file these claim after my separation date(July 2009)? I would like to know your thoughts!I would greatly appreciate your response.GOD bless you always!

Thank you so much for all your help with fellow veterans and soldiers. I just got my Tdrl rating this week and i have 80% peb and 100% VA. My question is i already have a date on my Reeval, specifically for PTSD 50%. I am clearing next week for my Tdrl, I also have a fed job lined up! Would it affect my reeval if I work f/time, I need to find a job because I have a family with 3 kids. Would they use that against me and would lower my rating for the VA and My PEB. what are your thoughts? I was skeptical to take the Job @ first because they might lower my rating. But i talked to a DAV VSO and AW2 rep, they said go to work, and it will not affect my rating @ all. But from what I have read in the forum, there is a good chance.
I would greatly appreciate your response.. GOD bless!
    Jason,
If you have any updated numbers or anything to get ahold of the PEB personnel, I would greatly appreciate it. Is the deadline for submission of my information the date of the MEB on my orders, or is there some later date? Additionally, it's just the medical records and a doctors note that I need submit, correct? I'm understandably concerned about trying to get everything correct, especially since the local VA hospital seems to know nothing about the TDRL reevaluation process.
    Thanks for your help,

thanks for all you do for people like me. iam in MEB phase two now. waiting. but i still have medical issues. the military is trying to hurry and put me out. i have a hurniated L4,L5-s1 and my right leg is numb and hurts like hell. i have had several mri's, but they cant tell me whats wrong with my leg. do you have any sugestions?
    Jason,

You have been a great deal of help, and will definately help me when I talk with the PEBLO tomorrow. My last question for you is trying to help me define the 6 month window for cessation of treatment. Although, I have been off the Chemo for a week now, I am on a permanent drug for the rest of my life to keep the mutated chromosome in my blood from progressing. Thanks for everything!
    Jason,

I didn't see how to reply to your PM, but thanks for such a quick response. Here is my situation:

    17 years Active Duty
    E8
    OIF Veteran 3x Tours
Diagnosed with CML on 13 Mar 2009

From what I have been reading on the Forum, it appears that since I have less than 20 years and if I get Med Retired, I will get whatever percentage times my Base Pay if greater than 50% OR waive my retirement for the VA disability (whatever is higher)? If I can stay in till 20 years, I can receive both benefits but my rating may be lower since I will be past the 6 months re-evaluation period past treatment if that makes sense. Also, if you do receive CDRP, what happens after Dec 31, 2013? Do you go back to one or the other? I just want to do what's best for my family considering this disease! Thanks.
Hey there Jason, this board is an outstanding wealth of information. That being said, I have just gotten home from my third year long deployment to Iraq about a month ago and on 13 Mar 09 I was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. I have an appt with my Doc to probably get my P3 profile on 16 Apr. I am suppose to meet with the PEBLO Administrator tomorrow out of the kindness of his heart to counsel me before I have even gone through the MEB process. My question is: What kinds of questions should I ask him tomorrow and what guidance should I seek out?

    Thanks a lot,

    1SG G
    Sir,
I was wondering what the chances are of being found unfit for duty due to both OSA and Central SA which was caused by TBI that i am also being treat for as well as PTSD and Depression, The Doc's have also found that the TBI's have caused moderate to severe short term memory loss and a problem with my vision in my left eye also due to TBI I am currently awaiting my NARSUM to come back and feel I can not continue in the Army and just wanted to know my chances of getting out Also i am an Infantryman I have seen that MOS has a play on this process Thanks for your time
Sir i have been through the ipeb they say i am unfit .
here is there reason the profile that i never saw is to
restrictive dose not let me take any cardio.on my APFT
these restrictions are not needed i can and have passed
mt APFT in the last month the 88h knows that they are
wrong but will not change my profile.if it would be better
to talk by phone i can give my number again i do have all doc.
that states i have no med.restrictions
Hello Sir, i would like to ask you, i have been told like my case neck fusion is around 10%, i didnt start my feb/meb yet, i dont want to fight for more rate , how long it take the minumum to be separat? i'm tierd from hospital and everything. Thx for ur time.
To refresh I am a CPT in the ARNG. I have 20 years April 23rd. I have been rated 50% PTSD (can be reviewed), 20% cervical and 10% back=60. My annual physical is in August. I will give them my info then regarding ratings. I don't believe I can perform PT test. Should I request a PEB, if so when? Can I be retained in a drilling status? Can I be discharged without a disability discharge?
