    TERA

TERA it is! Application submitted, hope to hear in about 2 weeks. After searching this site it seems I would benefit a great deal more if I TERA versus being medically retired before 20 years. Thanks for the advice.

    TERA

....AND 7 years later I'm back! So, I've read lots of threads but wanted to put it out there and get some sound advice. In the Air Force, August makes 19 years. Today was told that I would be MEB'd for type 2 DM. Doctors have not started any paper work yet for the MEB. My question...should...

    What happens now?

So 2 years ago I went through an MEB/IPEB/FPEB for diabetes. I was found fit for duty but with a C-3 duty limiting code. At the time I was on insuln but now I can control it with diet and exercise. Now what? Does the doc just submit paperwork to clear up the c-code, or is it another MEB? Air...

Getting Medically Retired due to Diabetes

Dio, You said a small group at Walter Reed is looking into Anthrax and T1 Diabetes. I can tell you I had all 6 Anthrax shots. I was dx w/T1 Oct 07. My last Anthrax shot was in 03. I personally think it had something to do with the Flu nasal mist. Anyway, PM me for more info. BTW, I was...

    Diabetes

If you are getting hypo while exercising, I would either lower your basal insulin or eat more carbs before you start the workout. It took me awhile to get it right, and even now my sugars are different day to day.

    Diabetes

I would say almost definately that being on a profile is a regulation of activities. They recommended me for a pump only after I could control my sugars w/insulin injections. Be procative and read as much as you can to control your sugars. When I work out I have to eat 40-60 grams of carbs to...

    Diabetes

I was found fit for duty, however I'm going to be reclassified into another career field. If you look at the ratings, you will only get 40% if your diet and excercise are restricted, mine isn't. If your shooting to get out, talk to your Doc and convince him you have to restrict your daily...

Schedule of Ratings for the Endocrine System

Seems the NAVY is trying to avoid paying retirement. I would definately appeal this.

Schedule of Ratings for the Endocrine System

IHaving been through the process for diabetes, I would say its depends on what your Endo and commanders letters says. Also, if your on a profile or not.

How likely is the Sec of the AF to overturn the FPEB decision?

From what I understand that is just part of the paperwork, they won't overturn it.

    Witnesses

Thanks for the response. I might just have my Flight Commander there, sounds like there's no reason to have anyone else, which makes it easier on everyone. I'm fighting for return to duty but I won't be able to fly, so how does my Flt CC address the fact that I can perform all of my duties...
