Hi all, I signed my NARSUM back in November.

My package was sent out in December, and the PEB finally reached an unfit decision in February(although I only found out because it went to the VA, from information I got from this forum).

Then on March 20th, a claim was opened in ebenefits in Cleveland, it was closed out on March 28th. I was SO excited because I thought it was on the way back, but there was no word for over a month.

On May 2nd, a NEW claim was opened in ebenfits in Cleveland. It's now May 21st, and ebenefits still says "Claim Recieved", with absolutely no update or movement. I feel like they dropped the ball on this, and I'm getting extremely stressed out about this. The uncertainty over this is killing me.

Is there ANYTHING I can do? I can hardly sleep, and I NEED resolution or some sort of update NOW.

Sorry to be dramatic, but I'm sure you all know how stressful the not knowing ANYTHING can be, especially when it's already WELL overdue.

they most likely sent it back to the IPEB. They sent the proposed rating..IPEB drafts up their summary and stuff and then emails it to your PEBLO.

Mine is the exact same except different dates. New claim opened in benefits account on 9 April, closed 10 April and then on 30 April a third claim appeared under "claimed received" for Cleveland. I submitted an IRIS inquiry freaking out at the time too. This is what happens:
The IPEB finds you unfit, sends the paperwork to the VA- Baltimore (depending on your office) receives it, looks it over, then sends to the rating department which is Cleveland for IDES claims. Cleveland gives the rating, closes it, then sends it back to Baltimore for the final signatures and benefits letter write-up (took about 2 and a half weeks for me). On 30 April, when I noticed another claim open up under Cleveland I immediately called my peblo and va rep. Both received via e-mail my proposed rating on 30 April and informed me that the va e-mails the msc and peblo the proposed rating, but snail government mails the rating to the IPEB. I have been waiting 3 weeks now for my findings and still haven't received anything. Don't stress about it. The 2nd of May is the date the VA mailed your proposed rating back to the IPEB. When I did receive my iris inquiry back via e-mail the va apparently sends the "files" back to Cleveland after Baltimore is finished with the benefits letter write up. This makes "a third claim" on your benefits account- making it appear as if they need more evidence or something is not being done-etc. So do not worry. Another week or two and you should hear back, but I would ask your va rep or PEBLO if they have received your proposed ratings. Mine have but will not tell me the result until the IPEB sends it to them.

Still nothing. My claim status still just says "Claim Recieved."

This is so stressful, I can hardly stand it.

So on a whim I called the same number I called before, and was prepared to beg the phone operator to help me figure out what's going on. After she got my info, she outright asked me if I would like the results of my review faxed to me. I didn't know what she meant by that, but I said "YES!" I checked the fax, and my proposed ratings were sent to AFPC on 9 May with...30%!!! I'm so happy, words can't even begin to explain.

I urge everyone to call the number, 1-800-827-1000, then choose option 7 and option 1.

Really?? I called last week and the VA wouldn't tell me anything...Ok I am going to call them today again and try harder this time!

When I call they ask for a file number? If you have'nt got your snail mail yet where can you get this file number ?

I never was asked about a file #? Oh wait, I just called again to verify and you press 0 after the 7, not 1, sorry! I never got my snail mail because I'd moved, but apparently they send them to you when they send them to the PEB. I asked her what address they were sent to, and she offered to fax it to me and update my address for future Comp and Pen stuff.

Let me know what you guys hear, like I said, my Ebenefits still just says "Claim Received", so it definitely doesn't update frequent enough.

I have been calling the VA the last several hours and it won't let me through?? It usually has an option for a call back but just now it said to "call back later?"

I called about an hour and a half ago and did the 7 then 0 option and was prompted to remain on hold for the next 30 minutes or receive a call back. I was called back within 20 minutes. No idea why it wont work for you.

I'm glad to hear it Niland. Have you gotten your brief from your PEBLO yet, or did you just do what I did?

The results haven't come back from IPEB yet. My PEBLO told me that a few people who were sent out AFTER mine with even more issues have come back already, so he said mine should be any day now. I'm not worried anymore, but I am still stressed over it dragging on so long.

Well I am out now as of 28MAy12 PDRL and now checked E-benefits... no VA letter/rating... ebenifits shows back to pending decision... it took 2 steps backwards hurrrumpf

No brief from the PEBLO she said I still had weeks to wait before they hear anything. She told me not to get my hopes up cuz the Air Force can change the rating But here is my rating!!
