It is unclear what causes Ménière’s Disease, but many vets have connected it to service through loud noises from airplanes or other machinery. I have worked on the flight line for 8 years and was exposed to military aircraft daily. Can I claim crsc for this because an airplane is considered a “War instrument”

I have also done pressurizations that I believe have triggered the Ménière’s.

I spent several minutes searching for Ménière’s Disease associated with CRSC and did not find any cases. That does not mean it cannot be approved; however, the odds seem slim.

I know this is an old post but I was scrolling through the CRSC stuff and saw this post and wanted to respond. My Meniere's rating was approved for CRSC. I actually applied for an adjustment disorder(10%) and was denied because I did the form wrong. I redid the form and was then approved for the adjustment disorder and Meniere's which I did not apply for.

For future reference, what was wrong with the initial application? Wrong disability?

Thanks,
Ron

If I remember correctly it was because I did the form by hand and I messed up something simple on the first page. It was 6 years ago so I am a bit fuzzy on the details. I was very surprised that I was approved for a disability that I did not apply for. I developed Menieres about 8 months after returning from Afghanistan. I was a scout helicopter pilot. I would agree with the sentiment that it was caused by either the amount of .50cal I fired 4 feet from my left ear or the many other aviation-related noises. Whatever the reason is I am grateful to the person doing my CRSC application.
