How long from signing 199 to starting terminal leave?

Waiting to sign my 199 but wondering what I'll need to be on post for (if anything) after I sign. Have like 70d of leave and would ideally take it all ... local policy contradicts itself saying all Soldiers depart 27 days after final PEB determination; also says anything prior to 26 days is fair game.

Just wondering what everyone's experience has been.

Thanks!

I could be wrong, as I am a has been now. I think 60 is the max for both sell and take. I.e. I sold 30 and took 30..... has been 18Delta

Incorrect, you are allowed to take all your leave as terminal leave and they can't force you to sell it if they are medically retiring you. See AR here:

AR Reg 600-8-10, 4-9
i. The “not later than” date, set by the U.S. Army Disability Agency, may be exceeded to allow the Soldier to use
accrued leave as terminal leave only if the Soldier has cooperated to meet transition requirements, and has not willfully
failed to comply with instructions in accordance with time lines of AR 635–8 and AR 635–40. These requests will be
processed in accordance with AR 635–8 and AR 635–40.

Also, you may get a NLT date that doesn't allow you to use your leave days but once you bring this up to them they can amend your orders to change the NLT date to accommodate your request to use all of your terminal leave.

You = MVP. The NLT will automatically be set to use all terminal leave though, plus 20d presumed PTDY? Just looking at the Fort Drum local policy.

Real talk I'll have like 70d leave and w/ PTDY that would be 90d total and I just feel like they couldn't possibly let me take all that even though I'd love to

Okay so got my orders, just wondering who "them" is. I requested all my leave and PTDY based on a start date that is a few days before the NLT date, and an end date that is AFTER the retirement date. Will this work? Once the DA 31 is signed, do I take it to finance to get orders amended?

Your PEBLO is the one that helps you with this. They need to submit a request to amend orders to move the NLT date back.
