ok so i had ulcerative colitis at 17 yo and joined at 19 i told my recruiter but the recruiter never wrote anything down so the army has no clue i had this prior before enlisting. i have flares ups now and am seeking help and they found out what i have and want to get me a meb. will the army ever find out that i had this before joining and if they do will i be in trouble? thank you in advance

The potential for a fraudulent enlistment is there, but highly unlikely. It is the job of MEPS and the recruiter to search medical records prior to basic training. Once you ”ship off” and make it through basic, the military usually takes care of you.

Yea but I heard that the meb or peb will look into past history and once they see it, will I be in trouble and will they take my GI bill away? Would they even look? Thanks for the reply

If you are asking me if it's possible, I can't tell you that it won't happen. What I am saying is that I have never heard of an MEB reaching back prior to the point of basic training for medical records. They may ask questions, but they are not going to dig into your prior life medical records. As a matter of fact, your civilian medical clinic can't even release your records without your written permission. It would be a HIPPA violation for them to do so.
