PDBR----PDRL Date

My PDBR has been adjudicated as of 02/2016. DFAS and the VA shared information to conduct an audit to determine back pay. My retirement date is 07/2005 but DFAS only audited back to 03/2010. Can anyone tell me why this happened? Advice on how to correct the PDRL date?

Can you give any further info on the case? You say it was adjudicated 2/16, was that the pdbr date that they sent to your branch? Do you have orders yet that show the dates and breakdown? What does your branch say, have you asked them?

The PDBR reflects the 07/2005 date of retirement. I do have orders that show the breakdown. I contacted the Army and nobody seems to know why. I am just getting the run around. DFAS tells me to call the VA, VA tells me to call the Army and the Army tells me to call DFAS! I am beyond frustrated. Nobody seems to know what to do when it comes to the PDBR. Every question comes with the same answer, "I'm not sure why they used that date."

Have you reached out to the pdbr? It seems to be a dfas issue if the retirement date is set and recognized by the army. Orders are orders so I'd think it's time to take it up the chain at dfas, maybe IG complaint? Maybe congressional investigation?

I know sometimes we think that our Senators and Representatives are "worthless"....but we rarely use them. I've seen many issues being resolved by them and/or their offices. Contact yours and USE THEM! Elections are coming!!!
Good luck! and let us know how it went...
Best!

So I received a phone call from DFAS. The lady said that in the computer system they can only go back 6 years. If it is more than the six years the account has to be done manually. At one point there were around ten employees that were working the PDBR guys but now that the cases are decreasing there are only two people working the PDBR accounts. I was also told that the common DFAS employees do not know about the PDBR so it is pretty much wasting your time if you call and ask them any questions. The gentleman that is working my case was on vacation last week and should be closing out my case this week. Back pay should show in my account at any time. This phone call eased my mind to say the least.

Thanks for the info

I was going to say because of how long it has been. They only store records virtually for so long before the system overwrites the data. Gives me a great idea of how long mine will take based on yours. Mine goes back to 03.

Any good news on your case mjinxt?

My back pay from DFAS was cleared up towards the end of June. Didn't get as much as I was hoping for. Now I am waiting on CRSC results which said they had 6 months to review my application. Still haven't figured out how to update my DA199. I have sent multiple emails and made numerous phone calls to the POC and haven't received a reply back. Even though all my severance has been paid back according to DFAS the VA is still taking money out for severance. Waiting to see what the audit from the VA finds. The VA is quick to take it our but moves at a snails pace to pay back!

What is the 199? I am doing all of this right now and got a ton of info today. Maybe I could help?

The DA-199 is the PEB results. I have my original when I was discharged but am needing it updated according to the results from the PDBR.

Do they update that? It doesn't seem like they would given it is a narrative of board proceedings.

Nope. Nobody really seems to know with the PDBR findings. I have sent the PDBR paperwork to the POC at the Army but she never returns emails or phone calls.

I'm not surprised they don't contact you back. But I truly don't think they would change your original board. That would be like going back and writing over a trial transcript of someone is granted a new trial. It's a record of old proceedings. Hopefully they get back with you and let you know.

spoke with AL and he still doesn't see my case in his system. He said that he is the last dept. that will get it and the Army is probably reviewing it....sigh. Next month (Aug) will be three yrs.

any luck? After going to my retirement briefing I was told that they would back pay me to the last day of my TDRL because I was getting paid from the Army at the time. After re-reading your post, Im surprised that they didnt pay back the VA severance with your back pay first and then give you the remaining difference. I just requested an Audit with the VA as well to make sure the amount I pay back is accurate.

I am still waiting on the VA audit. My severance has been paid back completely. When I contact them they said that it was not a high priority. I was advised to think of the VA as a savings account in the money that they continue to take from my pay every month. What a joke. Still waiting on the CRSC.

Did you receive your pay from DFAS?

My wounded warrior rep says that I should be getting a payment......still waiting!
