How Long Have You Been Waiting on Ratings?

My unfit memo came back 17AUG and my case went for ratings 18AUG. I have been waiting ever since and eBenefits has been showing pending decision approval for the past 2 months. I've seen people that started at the same time and after me literally get ratings back the next week. Is there a backlog or something I'm not aware of? How long have others been waiting. My MEB started in early June.

It largely depends on the PEB and your location, and how backlogged your PEB is/isn't. Mine is through Ft Lewis PEB. My case initially had me misdiagnosed and a cookie cutter 199 with 50% for mental health. during that time, the PEB moved like lightning, trying to ge tme out fast but with little care for accuracy. then I got someone very high in the VA involved, new set of CP exams, misdiagnosis corrected, new ratings from VA (100% PT) and now the PEB is moving extraordinarily slow.

So my theory is this. if a cookie cutter or simple case with a lower rating, the individual case moves fast, if complicated or higher ratings warranted, it get scrutinized and is more slow. its almost like they have two case worklists, one fast and one slow.

@shawn488 Have you heard anything since your last post on 5 November? Your situation is similar to mine except my fit/unfit was dated 23 october. the PEBLO's stated I am well within the time frame for receiving my DA form 199 even though it has been 5 weeks and 3 days since my proposed ratings were sent back to the PEB.

My timeline below.
Like tony292 said, just depends where your case is.
I saw people start after me finish months before me.

I have not received my proposed ratings as of yet. 4 months and counting...

I am still waiting on mine as well. Quickly approaching 2 months since they have been completed. The PEBLO said there have been numerous corrections on my 199 since December 3.

Ratings came back pretty much 2 weeks after I received my unfit memo. I guess that's pretty fast considering some of the stories I am hearing

Yes indeed that is really fast. Mine also came around the same time frame but I filed for VARR so I wonder how long that will take. I am really hoping it comes fast like the regular ratings.

Maybe its Fort Campbell because everyone that I know here has been getting ratings pretty quickly.

I am at Fort Gordon and it's moving really fast here too. I am guessing it's happening all throughout the army. Marine and Navy are definitely taking their time.

Hello I just got word yesterday I should have orders by end of this week. I signed my 199 Sept 8, 2015 accepting my ratings. To make a long story short I had to contact the PHys Dis Agency Director by email last Friday because no one could give me an answer why I have not recieved orders as of 14 Dec with a retirement date of 22 Dec 2015. I have been calling the MEB who said I still had no orders...It has been a mess that no one wants to take responsibility how I have been on the PDIR since 22 Sept 2015, with a retirement date of 22 Dec and not contacted. The very first indicator for me was when MYPAY changed showing a retirement account and I called DFAS.
Today everything was corrected by the the PDA director and PDA operations OIC and my new Retirement date is 23 March 2016. I will have orders by end of week.
Also today my PEBLO did not apologize to me for not getting back to me by email or phone and blamed me for not being more pro active... How much more proactive can I be to contact the PDA Director directly last week because I knew something was not right doing their job. My PEBLOs last word when I signed my 199 was The next thing is you will hear from me about getting your orders. That was 8 Sept 2015. With the help of this forum, I have been calling HRC Medical Retirements and my local Transistion CTR over 2 dozen times since Oct till last Friday about my orders. Today it got resolved.
Naughim, I to have been under Ft Gordon for my entire MEB Process. 60% DOD/100% VA.
END of Story

Hello Naughim
please read my last post above. I too am out of Ft Gordon.

Mine took 10 weeks from the start of my P3 profile to my VA rating proposals. I'm at JBLM.

Kazhmone, that's really unfortunate to hear what happened with your case. I can't understand how people seem to have missed it. The PEBLO definitely did a poor job on following up. It's such a shame these people are holding jobs and playing with soldiers time and emotional being.

Ok so first off its not fort Campbell cause my stuff is going super slow and that's where I am. Second listen to this crap and please reply I need some help with this. So I call the 1 800 number to VA two weeks ago, they say my it says they are requesting a sleep study be done and I should get something at some point. Still haven't received anything nor has my ebenefits moved from gathering evidence since then. So I call my MSC here and this is what she says, I can't make this crap up.

"Don't call the 1800 number because you are in the IDES process and they know nothing about that, while in the IDES process the VA will not request you to take a sleep study if you want that done then go to your PCM." So then I asked about why ebenifits was still on gathering information and hasn't moved, to make sure there is nothing I need to do, she replies with, "Don't pay attention to ebenifits because you are in the IDES process and not a veteran yet so the site will be wrong until you officially get out, just sit and wait" Hmmmm sounds to me like its the same BS answer just to get me off the phone.

It is ashame that you put 12+ years in the Army and they can't get people to frigging answer simple questions with answers that will help, instead you get the same answers the Army would give you just because someone doesn't want to do work.

Has this happened to anyone else and now Idk what to do.

Where do you find the historical claims on ebennefits? I know the obvious but just want to make sure I am looking in the right place

What you were told about eBenifits is true. DO NOT USE IT AS A GUIDE. Until you get out.

It updates some items... SOME. The VA is sending what they believe your ratings are to the PEB who makes the final decision.

The real tracker is in your MEDPROS the PEB/MEB portion. Get your updated data from there and from your PEBLO.

I would love to get data from my PEBLO but ummmmm he doesn't communicate. I call NOTHING I email NOTHING!!! so yea just a bird on a limb

jp it seems like we have the exact same timelines +/- a day.

My PEBLO is pretty good. However her data comes from the IDES Dashboard, so in that essence I have the same data as she does. However she will get notice of the 199 before me, and if there is no movement the PEBLO supervisor can make some calls and see if your application is just 'stuck.'

For instance, I knew my fit/unfit was available before she did, because I check the IDES Dashboard myself.
