Hello everyone,

Awesome news, we rejoice with you. Mikethey gave me my deserved retirement.
I was given a 20% rating from the VA and I appealed that and after 2 years of waiting they awarded me 100% and paid me like 60k back pay.Was the 100% VA rating effective from the date of separation? When were you discharged?
Mike
I was not retired from the Army, I was given a medical discharge and $58,800 and was done. I served over 13 years. I am not sure if it is a good thing that I never initiated this PDBR review but it is in its final stages I guess. So were you eventually granted 100% effective the date of retirement? When were you discharged?

I just received a notification that my packet was going to the Army very soon but not sure how long the process will take.bdbutche09,
Congrats on your retirement...what is your timeline of you don't mind me asking??
It took a little over a year to get my letter stating that they are retiring me. I talked to a gentleman this past week and he told me it should be 2 weeks and I receive my retirement paperwork. So in all I would say it will take 14 months total. Hopefully you have a rating with the VA that is 30 percent or greater. For the condition I was separated for I got 10 percent from the NAVY. The VA rated the same condition for 40 percent. So the pdbr rated me 40 percent with retroactive placement on the pdrl list for Dec 15, 2007.
I was discharged with a 0% for epilepsy and when the VA evaluated me and all was said and done I was at 100% service connected disability. I am not sure how that will work but hopefully it will be good for me.It took a little over a year to get my letter stating that they are retiring me.
