Hi, I have been on here quite a few times searching the forums for all kinds of questions and have founds lots of answers. I am in the Air Force and I am being meb'd for l4/l5 petruding/bulging disc in my back. It all happened in July 2012. I have already been through my c&p exams and just signed my NARSUM yesterday. My peblo said my paperwork got sent up to IPEB yesterday as well. My question is, I know it's not a guaranteed thing, but what do you guys think. Since it has already went through once and found unfit at the small board and is being sent up a second time will it be found unfit? or will I be sent back to duty with a code. Any comments would be appreciated, thanks.

That may be true but when I spoke to a nice lady at the VA last week I asked her. How do I know what medical records the VA has? She kindly replied that if I do a FOIA request they will gladly send me copies of what they have...LOL
Yea, well I faxed them a written request for my 356 to be mailed to my home address. The lady on the 1800 number told me that I would have to either fax a written request or mail it and I didn't want to use snail mail.
I mean I have talked to two people from the VA on the 1800 number and they both have said they have my 356 and doing proposed ratings and even read off to me what was in section 12 so they must have access to it somehow.

Before a full blown MEB, they do a RILO (review in lieu of), they can say fit for service or go to full MEB, if full meb is required, you meet your peblo and VA guy, list all your claimable conditions, get setupt for VA C/P exams, then a NARSUM is written, once you sign the narsum/request an IMR etc. it all goes to your HQ (af is AFPC) they then determine fit or unfit this is the actual IPEB (informal physical evaluation board), if they determine fit, the VA rating stuff never happens, if they determine UNFIT, they (the IPEB) sends your stuff to the va for ratings.
Hey it says in your sig that you were officially found unfit and forwarded to RI in Sep, how did you find out you were? and also are you still waiting on ratings?
Just an update in case anyone comes across this on the search engine, it is possible to get your paperwork from the VA, I got copies of my 356 in the mail today from the VA along with my commanders letter and NARSUM. The 356 does say unfit on it but of course the ratings aren't on there because they are in the proposed rating stage. It's funny because I talked to my PEBLO the other day and she still "does not know if I have been found fit or not".
I asked my peblo if I had been found unfit yet, My peblo and I knew going into the MEB that I was unfit since I have been on 1/2 days for over a year and on average miss 5-6 of those a month on top of medications etc. which prevent me from doing any aspect of my job from supervisor to technician.
I am still waiting on ratings, no movement on ebene, 24 claimed conditions 23 of which were positive by the C/P doc, one which was not (gerd/not enough damage yet) additionally contributing to the fact, I wrote my commanders letter and my own rebuttal to the IMR which I made sure both where indicative of "unfit".
I did also just request a copy of my file from the VA via IRIS and not a true FOIA request, so we shall see if the PEB added or subtracted unfitting conditions or stayed the same. (narsum initally was just fake hip, imr changed it to hip/thigh left hip FAI and lumbago with sciatica, but I wanted the neck on it as well)
Then your peblo is lazy and should be fired/ you should talk to a supervisor, it is very easy for them to log into either one of their 2 systems (VTA being an obvious) and see if you are fit or unfit, but supposedly they cannot generate the 356 for you because its not "official" until ratings are on it.
Yea I don't understand why they wouldn't just check their systems, I mean how lazy do you have to be to take a few min if not seconds out of your day to look at that.
Just an update. Ebenefit says pending decision approval so hopefully I will hear something this month. Looks like some peoples stuff was being sent to their peblos a few days after receiving this status.
I called the 1800 number and the lady said that the decision has been made, that they have found out my proposed ratings but not have made my notification package yet or mailed it out? She also said that even if she could see my proposed ratings she could not tell me them over the phone... pretty dumb.

It's probably because you have more conditions on there than me. I only have like 6 on mine. Where is yours at now?
actually about 5 hours after I posted, My case moved to Pending D. Approval. 24 claims. 8 of which are bilat.
