Whyyyyy must this process take so long? On average how long is it taking to receive preliminary ratings? I just my e benefits and it says review of evidence - requested evidence past due? BUT when I call they say they have everything they need! Also, it's been saying that for months. I just want to be done with all this! #OverIt does anyone know how fast the Seattle office is going ? Or how slow? What month are they on? Is there a number I can call?

Seattle is currently one of the worst in the nation
17,766 vets awaiting claim resolution
10,807 of the claims are over 125 days old
12,024 vets wait 1 year+ as of dec 12-dec 13
155 days is average completion time
124 days is the average time if its a first time claim
(the more accurate for IDES purposes, however they are not directly tracked as IDES and lumped in with all other first time claims, also keep in mind even thought hey have switched from paper to digital records, they still have a 10-20 "indoc" period before the clock starts) So even if the PEBLO says "the va accepted your claim on xx day" you should add 10-20 days to that on top of the current "average" time of 124 days.

You can call the 1800 iris number and do an inquiry, but to be honest they are pretty useless most times. The other option is a congressional inquiry, but that is a mixed bag and you can search for it on here and see folks thoughts.
Another option is to get a DAV rep, which is basically a person that can go in individually and check status's and see if there is something wrong and maybe raise a flag if there is an issue.

HOWEVER WITH ALL THAT SAID, I suspect by your username that you are army, recently ( in the last 3-4 weeks) army cases have been redistributed in some cases to other VA offices, check your ebenfits and see if it is still in seattle as I suspect this may happen to yours, which would be to your benefit, as you would move to the head of the line at another office.

how long have you been waiting

Since the beginning of Oct 2013. I know it's not as long as some been waiting. But I have 1 condition..... I would think it wouldn't take that long.

Get a DAV rep and see if they can see if your claim has been touched, ebenefits is only as good as the person updating it!

October of 2013...

Expect to be in the IDES for at least a year, if not more. Checking eBenefits is a waste of time. When your 199 is ready, your PEBLO will inform you. Until then there is nothing you can do except be patient.

Big waste of time no answers

Yea most answers calling the 1800 number is pretty scripted, unless there are notes from the rater

Yes very scripted. They don't know anything. Lol

It's gonna take awhile. I had to send my ratings received back in early October (after waiting three years for them) for a simple clerical error (typo) that led to an incorrect rating.

Just that process may take up to six months.

Yea it is

When I went through IDES the wait time was only about 60 days or so for ratings

Until there is less claims coming in than going out it won't slow down no time soon

Ive been in that same stage since july 2013 and I havent heard anything yet I finished my VA appointments in june 2013. My package is in RI

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Hmm, I believe there exist a "Providence RI" timelines thread on PEB Forum; might be worth a look for any potential interesting information in my opinion!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!
