DAV or different VSOs

I'm thinking about joining the DAV. I've read where they've been able to help a lot of people on this forum. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with a different VSO. I've looked into AMVETS and I'm wondering what they would be able to do that's different from the DAV. For that matter, what would any VSO be able to do that's different from the DAV. I don't just want to join a VSO for the purpose of getting help while dealing with the VA. Any thoughts?

I really support the VFW and legion in regards to being a part of an organization etc, most vet orgs these days project themselves as lobbying organizations etc, but the VFW/Legion also are geared towards fellowship for vets. If you do not want to join just for the help, then do what you can in the future to "pay it forward".

I'll look into both of them. Hopefully I find what I'm looking for. I know there are a bunch of Vet Orgs out there. I guess it's all about finding the ones that fit me the best.
