dod vs va

I was just recently medically retired and am wondering if and how I’m supposed to opt into VA pay verses DOD pay? My VA pay would be considerably higher. I don’t remember being told or having the option to choose between the two. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I tried to find the answer but wasn’t successful, so I’ll ask here. If you get referred for a MEB from 2 different unfit conditions, how will the DOD rating be added up/combined? Will the DOD rating follow VA math or actual math? For example: SPC Snuffy got 100% from VA but DOD awarded him 50%...

I understand once the PEB deems a SM unfit, the injury is sent to the VA for percentage rating and back to the PEB. My question is will the DOD rating always follow the VA percentage rating? For example: if the VA rates a condition at 20%, can the DOD rate be lowered to 10% for the exact same...
