9/11 GI Bill transfer to dependent

I know if you are medically forced out then yes, you can transfer without the additional time requirement served after transferring benefits. However, I think you have to have served ten years. Not sure on that part?

SSDI Lawyer states online school disqualifies me?

Thanks scoutcc. Re: voc rehab, my counselor is still working my plan to get it approved. I'm eligible for self employment. I'd like to get into vet advocacy. But because my plan was different, it's taking longer to get approved, and honestly I couldn't wait around till fall to get started...

    PRDL or TDRL

This is very much 'UNOFFICIAL', but it seems to be true as of late- if you have any MH condition rating, you will be marked TDRL, as most MH conditions may improve with continued therapy, treatment, meds, etc. Again, just what I have seen, not a doc by any means or have any insider guide to how...

SSDI Lawyer states online school disqualifies me?

Hello all. Try to make this brief and concise as I can. Medically retired this January, 100TDRL/100P&T VA. Mostly for various ortho injuries that surgeries didn't fix. Also TBI. All combat related. WW advised me to apply for SSDI over a year ago while I was still in but obviously wasn't going...

Transfer of post 9/11 GI Bill to dependants

Navy here, about three-four months before my EAOS I went on this site and tried to transfer benefits. Was denied obviously, but it gave a number to call for questions. Gave them my info, told them I was being medically retired and wished to transfer. They had me email them a copy of my...

Post 9/11 or Voc Rehab: Which one will suit my case?

I definitely second that, nwlivewire. Between his e-book, the website, and the Facebook page on Chapter 31 DisabledVets.org, you will have pretty much all you will need to be prepared and informed before you walk in the door. Amazing resource!

    Chiari I Malformation

ian2103, I hadn't heard of Chiari before so did a bit of research. Most state it is congenital, but you stated it was a TBI. It was noted most do not know they have Chiari until their 20s-30s or they have a head trauma which requires MRIs or other imaging at which time the Chiari's is diagnosed...

    NAVY timeline..

Good luck to you... believe me I know the frustration! I wasn't in a rush to get out, so I think that helped me to not climb the walls as much, but I know we all hate being in limbo.

And ebennies is down again... just went to look how mine was worded so hopefully I could provide a little more help for you. 1-800-827-1000 is the VA number.

    NAVY timeline..

Oh wow. Didn't see that. Dunno... I had four LIMDUs, and my PEBLO never told me if I was fit or not- just ended up looking at ebennies. Have you tried calling the VA's 800 number? They should be able to at least tell you if the package has been received by them... I have seven referred...

    NAVY timeline..

Hey Unkn0wn, another way to find out is looking at your ebenefits page. If the VA has your package, you can assume you have been found unfit. The VA wouldn't be rating you if you had been found fit. Have you signed into ebenfits yet?

Thank you gentlemen. On the advice of the JAG and my liaison, I submitted a request plus documentation asking to be placed on the PDRL instead of TDRL. I will post the outcome.

100% DoD but TDRL??? ASAP please!

Just saw your update on the new instruction! DoDI 1332.18, Appendix 4 To Enclosure 3/ TDRL Management, page 40. 1.b. "Service members with unstable conditions rated at a minimum of 80 percent that are not expected to improve to less than an 80 percent rating will be permanently retired." Could...

100% DoD but TDRL??? ASAP please!

Also, this was an informal board. VA is 100% also. Since I have a number of other conditions and surgeries that placed me in that range for VA, do I really need to worry about being TDRL for DoD? Also, most conditions are direct combat-related (TBI/Neuro lesions, etc/Ortho). I have already been...
