I'm being sent to a SRU in the states from Korea for my med board in November . There's really nothing online that provides any information on what you say to day life is like while at a sru for a med board. Just seeing if there's anyone out there who's willing to share their experience!

Thanks man. November 16th is my report date. It's not too far out. I'm just pissed that they make you leave here the 16th and expect you to travel across the world to Georgia and report the same day haha. Even with the flight the military booked for me I'm gonna be a few hours late lol

Finally got contacted by air evac 14Sep2023 and got them all the paperwork they needed within the hour of receiving the email. The email said the processing timeframe is 30-90 days so I'm not sure if that's 30-90s till I'll report or till I'll get my orders. I'm assuming orders

How long did this process take for you total? From when air evac got your packet till you got your orders cut?

update. Commander finally submitted the packet back to my case manager. Not sure how long it'll be now before air evac contacts me

That's not a bad idea. I would thought your report date would have been sooner but it's still a start. Keep me posted. I'm gonna see if the case manager has even submitted my packet cause I got it back to her the same day she sent it to me

That's awesome! Did you get your top choice? My case manager has my packet but I'm not sure if she's submitted it. Debating on emailing her to see if it's been submitted. And by assignment do you mean your orders for air evac?

yea idk when they do that shit. Doesn't make sense to me at all. Hopefully I can get out of here in a month. Just waiting to hear back from air evac and get confirmation on the base I'm going to and get orders. I hope that doesn't take to long

Are you out now? They told me I couldn't take leave enroute to my dry which doesn't make since cause I have family and need to find a place to live

How long did the process take for you to get orders from the time they put you in for the board?

TIMELINE: 2AUG2023- REFFERED TO MED BOARD BY PCM 23AUG2023- NARSUM SIGNED BY LTC FOR PRE MED BOARD \ 24AUG2023- CASE MANAGER CONTACTED ME WITH DOCS TO SIGN AND A CHOICE OF MY TOP 3 SRU TO GO TO NOW JUST WAITING TO HERE BACK WITH ACCEPTANCE TO ONE OF THE 3 SRU AND THEN GET MY ORDERS CUT

UPDATE: 24 AUGUST CASE MANAGER CONTACTED ME WITH MY MEB DOCUMENTS SHE NEEDED TO GET ME ORDERS FOR THJE SRU. WAITING ON SRU CONFIRMATION NOW

Damn that's pretty long! Did they say when you'd get your orders tho?

Awesome so you got your code waived? Did they say how long it'll take to get your orders now that your packet was sent?

BTW forget to ask but did you need any commander counseling for you packet to HRC.
