Severance Pay - Retirement Pay - VA $

Hmm, very interesting. I received a letter from the Air Force dated 27 July on the 3rd of August, saying that the PDBR recommended retirement and the AF accepted that recommendation. The next day I took that letter to the AF Military personell flight in the pentagon where i work, I showed...

    Got some good news today

Yes, that's how it worked for me. I think thigns are different now though, as my understanding is that the PDBR only accepts cases for seperations that occurred before the end of 2009.

Getting medically separated and find out I am pregnant...

hi, I was medically seperated and used my tricare coverage for the 6 months after. I had to re-enroll both my family and I, but once I did that it was like I was still on active duty. I am not a Tricare expert, but from my experience, as long as the baby is born before Tricare expires, you will...

Severance Pay - Retirement Pay - VA $

Hello folks, I'm very confused about how things might play out for me. My case is currently with the PDBR, I am hopeful that I will get retirement. IF I do, I am wondering: - How will the roughly $100,000 I received in severance pay be affected? currently, about half of my VA disability...

    Crohns MEB Help

Yes, I did get severance pay. I think it showed up a couple weeks after my discharge date. They withheld 30% I think for taxes, but following instructions I found on here, and submitting my VA rating to DFAS, I was able to get the withheld portion sent to me. That was a couple months later. It...

    Crohns MEB Help

Howdy. Sorry to hear your news. Maybe I can be of some encouragement. If you think you have a chance of winning an appeal, go for it. I had to take it all the way to the SECAF appeal board but was able to stay in with Crohn's. The second time around I just didn't have the heart to go through...

Checking stattus of your case once it is sent to the PDBR? Is there a phone number

My case was sent to the PDBR on February 16, and the folks at Randolph say that once they send it off to Washington they no longer are able to provide me any status updates on where it is in the process. (waiting to be reviewed, currently being reviewed, almost finished waiting for signatures...

After I was discharged and started working for the federal govt as a civilian I had a numbe rof VA appointments to go to in relation to getting my disability rating sorted out. The first one was during my first two weeks I think. I just asked for advance leave to cover it. I'm not sure how the...

    Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis

I was on 6MP only. I was also initially fighting to stay in, so I tried to minimize teh severity of my disease in an effort to stay in. But, as I mentioned, the narrative was pretty negative, and certainly based on my and the VA's interpretation, I shoudl have gotten 30% from the IPEB. Yes, I...

    Crohns MEB Help

responses to your questions based on my experience only (every case is different) 1. I was rated at 10% for Crohn's every time. (twice at IPEB, once at FPEB) I was surprised by this because if you all you knew about me was what you read in their report on my medical records (the narrative...

Retired rank if selected for next grade but seperated before pinning on?

OK, good, so I'm not crazy, others have read this too. :) Any ideas on the DoD or AF Instruction this is listed in?

Retired rank if selected for next grade but seperated before pinning on?

Hello, I remember reading in either an AF or DoD instruction that if you are medically retired and you have already been selected for promotion, but not yet pinned on by the date of your medical retirement that you are actually retired in the grade you had been selected for. Retired pay is...

How often does PDBR meet? how soon should I expect to hear back with my case in DC?

How often does PDBR meet? how soon should I expect to hear back with my case in D thanks for the replies. Mike, when you say 8 months average, is that for the entire process (ie, submitting the form to Randolph, them gathering everything and sending it to DC, the board making a ruling) or just...

How often does PDBR meet? how soon should I expect to hear back with my case in DC?

Hello all, I finally received a letter from Randolph AFB last week letting me know that they had received all of my records and info and that my package had moved to the PDBR (I submitted my application in September). I thought I had read this somewhere on the board, so I apologize for asking...
