Yeah, claim closed on Saturday. However, as fate would have it, the VA messed up my pay and said I only rate one month of retroactive pay vice the two months that I've been out, so now an audit is having to be conducted in order to rectify that problem.

So insane to hear. I'm sorry man. The Department of Veterans Affairs, and I don't say this lightly, truly needs massive amounts of reform. There's no reason, no reason at all why this process should take 53 days or 51 days to complete.

20 August update. The VA is really dragging their feet here. Went into PFN yesterday afternoon but took 10 days to go from PDA to PFN. Best of luck to those of you getting out soon. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

No final physical is required for checkout. Now, if you haven't done your semi-annual H/W, the company office could be a pain in the ass and make you weigh in but as far as medical is concerned, tell them that you're being medically retired and they will just sign the checkout sheet.
